Where are you guys getting halo settings these days?

Hi everyone,

I know it has been awhile, but I had to put my jewelry projects on hold due to some other priorities. Well, I finally have the funds to set my bright pink spinel. I bought it a long time ago, and would like to do a simple pave halo.

It has been a while since I have been following the diamond and color stone threads, and just want to know who you are using to set your stones. It looks like ERD is popular for color stones which is new to me, any others?

Here is a pic of my stone since I am sure you all forgot by now. It is brighter in person.

It depends on your budget and expectations: ERD, Daniel M (Etsy), Lanbo and LOGR (both are on eBay). I think IDJ does a well priced halo setting too.

I have a pretty good budget for the project. I just e-mailed ERD for a quote on this setting, http://www.engagementringsdirect.co...-halo-diamond-engagement-ring-bpid-79-19.html, but I am wondering if it too thin given my stone is not all that large (it is 8.5mm by 6.5mm), so I am also looking at the Legacy style http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/heather-bezel-micro-pave-halo-engagement-ring-bpid-259-19.html, but do not like that stone on the bottom. I will look at some of the other companies you recommended.

Mark @ ERD will modify settings for you. I didn't like some diamonds underneath the stone so I had the setting made without them.

He hasn't been great at answering e-mails lately though. Maybe he's really busy.

How reasonable are they? They don't seem to list prices, unless I'm missing them somewhere. Do they really only offer WG & Platinum?

Pretty reasonable IMO. I was quoted at least $1500 more for similar settings from other online retailers and $3500 more from local shops.

This setting http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/claire-cathedral-micro-pave-halo-engagement-ring-bpid-118-19.html was $2900 in 18k gold IIRC. I used a stone almost identical in size to the OPs.

Thanks airplay355, your info was really helpful. Expecially since I have been checking my email all day with no reply . The halo I want is simpler than yours (although that is a nice one), and your quote it at the top of my budget, so it looks like this may workout. I am wondering if calling tomorrow would be faster than going through e-mail?

JewelFreak - I sounds like the prices for one this page http://www.engagementringsdirect.com/forever-yours-pcid-18.html are in line with what airplay's quote was. I don't know if they do anything but white or yellow gold.
