Hi. Any astronomy fans in PS Land? Here are some sky highlights for the month of April.
1 Moon near Beehive cluster (M44) (evening sky) at 22h UT.

3 Moon near Regulus (evening sky) at 15h UT.
3 Venus 0.4° SSE from Alcyone, brightest star in the Pleiades (46° from Sun, evening sky) at 21h UT. Mags. -4.4 and +2.8.
6 Full Moon at 19:19 UT.
7 Moon near Spica (midnight sky) at 4h UT.
7 Moon near Saturn (midnight sky) at 10h UT. Mag. +0.3.
7 Moon at perigee (closest to Earth) at 17h UT (358,315 km; 33.3').
10 Moon near Antares (morning sky) at 5h UT.
13 Friday-the-13th. There are three Friday-13ths in 2012, 13 weeks apart from each other. Friday falls on the 13th more often than any other day of the week.
13 Last Quarter Moon at 10:50 UT.
14 Venus 9.8° NNW of Aldebaran (evening sky) at 11h UT. Mags. -4.5 and +0.9.
15 Saturn at opposition (opposite the Sun) at 18h UT. Visible all night long, the ringed planet is at its brightest (mag. +0.3) and closest all year (disk diameter 19"). Saturn's rings appear magnificent even in a small telescope.
16 Mars 4.3° E of Regulus (evening sky) at 5h UT. Mags. -0.4 and 1.4.
18 Mercury at greatest elongation, 27° west of Sun (morning sky) at 17h UT. Mag +0.4. Thin Moon nearby.
21 New Moon at 7:19 UT.
22 Lyrid meteor shower peaks at 5:30 UT. Active April 16-25. Radiant is between Hercules and Lyra. Expect 10 to 20 bright, fast meteors per hour at its peak.
22 Moon at apogee (farthest from Earth) at 14h UT (distance 406,419 km; angular size 29.4').
23 Moon near the Pleiades (26 from Sun, evening sky) at 18h UT.
