Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL!! ;( Hugs for you and your DH!!!! Get better doggy dust to Byron!!! I'm soooooo sorry!!!!! I'm really hoping your new client will be a good match for your plans. Hopefully it will be. I'm really impressed that you're so with it. I'm really looking forward to start TTC for real next month. I'm still waiting for my O, so I might even be TTC this cycle if it hangs out for long enough....

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LC, I'm really hoping I can join you in the TTC club next month, it just depends on how the next couple of weeks go. I'm eager for something to look forward to!

So, I'm on CD43 and am really frustrated about it. Since coming off of BC in June, my cycles have consistently been 28 - 32 days and now I'm having a strange, wacky, long cycle? I was getting faint positives on my OPKs, so I stopped taking them around CD20. Then on CD26 I got EWCM. My LP is usually 14 days, but it's been 17 days since the EWCM and still nothin'! I even decided to take a pregnancy test this morning *just in case* and got a BFN.

I know stress can do this, so I'm not surprised, just eager for AF to show up so I can start over!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL, I read in TCOYF that O'ing can be delayed but LP is usually a set clock. Maybe your O was actually late, with a gearing up to O on CD26 then again another hold for a few days? I'd wait just a little bit longer.

I'm also really annoyed with these UBER long cycles too. I'm on CD37 with no signs of O'ing (based on temps). I wanna tell my body to either hurry up so I can kick off next cycle or hold off some more so I can get some skiing done!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NE, so sorry to hear about Byron. :(( You and your DH have been a good mommy and daddy to him and have given your all. I hope you find peace in whatever decision you make as I know he has been a sick doggy. *Hugs to you*

I totally understand your work dilemma. I think you are so right to stay with your current company. Sounds like they have great perks for a working mom. And the best part is that you will be able to TTC sooner!!! I can't wait for you to start trying! Even though I just had a disappointment along the way, I know that thru the bumps in the road, I will end up with another bundle of joy and it will be worth it!

LC, woo hoo for TTC next month! I am so excited for you! I really hope that your cycles get shorter though along the way. Time goes by so slow once you start trying too. Right now I am 4 dpo and I will likely test at 10 dpo and it is hard to wait!!!!

AFM, I just keep trucking along. My DH and I did a full on BD marathon this time around so I hope we have some good news followed by strong betas! I have an appt with a fertility doctor in a week and a half to discuss everything, but I am hoping that I will have good news by then.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks, ladies, and Lizzy, hooray for the BD marathon!

Apparently complaining about my long cycle on PS did the trick because I'm CD1 today. I might try to temp this month to see if it gives me any more insight. I'm also ready to start trying even if everything else in my life is a bit crazy. Seeing the BFN on the test yesterday made me realize that I really want it to be a BFP and I'm tired of waiting to try. I don't think D will be ready this month, but who knows. I'll see how we feel in a couple of weeks...

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL WOOO HOOOO!!!!! Yay for TTC! That BFN made you really want that BFP for sure! Once you start TTC, there really is no stopping you! In regards to whether or not your DH will be ready to TTC....here's my thing....it's not like the baby will arrive tomorrow, you'll have 40 weeks to prepare yourself you know? So starting a month earlier only changes the outcome by a month, so why not start trying???!!!!

LC, it is very possible that I may be pregnant for my appt, which I know sounds weird! However, my issue has always been staying pregnant so I would at least like to go talk to them and see what they think. Can't hurt, I figure!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hi Girls, I am a little behind so I am trying to catch up. Hope my comments are still relevant.

NEL: I am sorry about your pup, I am sending you hugs!

Katy: I am glad that you will be able to have exactly the kind of birth experience that you want!

LB: Good luck next month! Just keep focusing on the next cycle!

PP: I am sorry that you are feeling so frustrated. Just know that we are all keeping our fingers crossed that something will happen one way or another so you can look forward and not feel stuck where you are.

Lizzy, Katy, PP, FabCrab, LC: Thanks for your concern about my floors and your cheers for the appearance of AF. Nothing has happened with the floors yet. We made a claim with our insurance and then the insurance company for the building agreed to take responsibility for all the damage. However, they are in no hurry to do anything so I basically have pieces of my floor missing all over my house.

I am on CD13 and I got a positive OPK today. We are scheduled for our first IUI tomorrow. I am way more excited than I thought that I would be. I also O'd earlier than usual this month, that is making me excited too!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I've just been lurking over here but wanted to poke in for a sec:
NEL: my heart goes out to you, your husband, and Byron. My dad had to put down one of his newfies last year and it was heartbreaking. It may be a good distraction to get your mind back to something positive by jumping on the TTC train again. And you have a whole 9 months to wait for the baby, which will go by both like running in mud and lightening fast at the same time. I know you need to grieve for Byron, and I think TTC will help and not just dismiss the feelings. Big hugs to you, dear...you're in my prayers.

Lizzy: someone may have mentioned this, but I heard conceiving last week or so was putting people on track for an 11/11/11 due date....fun stuff! Major get/stay preggo dust comiing at you!

BB: lots of dust that you'll be an IUI jerkstore! Best of luck, and like Steal woulld say, lay on that bed as long as you want after the IUI to let gravity help DHs swimmers along! Give them a pepe talk, too....it may help do the trick ;-)

:wavey:

Lizzy, sending you dust! I have a good feeling this month, can't say for sure, but my Spidey Sense is definitely tingling. Maybe it goes for all of our beautfiul TTC'ers. So... keeping my fingers crossed.

BB, wishing you tons of IUI luck!!

All, thanks for the support. I agree with all of you about it only being one month. I do think we are both ready at this point, the only issue with this month is that we might be too sad to BD at the right time...this month we're just going to have to play it by ear.

Keeping my fingers crossed for everybody!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I took the last pill of my pack last night, so I am officially not not trying next month :) I'm trying not to get too carried away in the beginning, but I did buy some ovulation tests just so I can try to confirm when I start ovulating. Hopefully all of us who are about to start trying have an easy time of it. Good luck to everyone who's already in the process!

Congrats on not not TTC. That is the most fun part. The actual TTC gets fairly daunting.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ok so I would love some advice from anyone who uses the clear blue easy OPK. Yesterday I got a smiley face and so I scheduled my IUI. Today I tested again just to see and the smiley is gone. Should I be worried that I missed my window? I thought that it was supposed to show a positive OPK for at least two days. Any experience?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I don't use clear blue easy OPKs, but I've had months where I had one positive within 24 hours, and other months where I've tested positive for 2 days in a row. I think the LH surge varies, however I have a couple of friends who've had IUIs and their docs have told them to only count the first positive. Since you O 12 - 48 hours after the LH surge, I think your IUI timing is good!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

BB, yay on the positive OPK! I do not use the Clear Blue Easy ones. I use the ones by Answer which gives me two lines so I can usually see the LH surge come in and fade out. Last cycle I had a positive LH surge for two days, this time around for three days. But it varies, so in my personal opinion I think you are good to go with the IUI. How many times a day did you take the test? Because if you only test once a day like I do, it is possible that the LH surge started the night before you got the positive on your test. See what I mean? So you may have had a positive for almost a day and a half. Don't worry though I'm sure the doctor will be able to see your follicles when they do the IUI and determine ovulation. Usually there is a lead follicle which they should be able to see on the u/s. Did you already go in for the IUI?

Charbie, it is funny you mentioned the due date of 11/11/11 because my DH mentioned it to me the other day because he saw on the news that many couples were trying to get pregnant this month to have that due date! Some people are crazy! The only thing I am praying for is to be pregnant and to stay full term! Thanks for all of the dust lady!!!

LC, thanks for the dust! I hope your spidey senses are onto something! ;))

NEL, I hear you on maybe not being in the mood to BD. But you never know. Sometimes when my DH and I have gone thru something that is stressful or sad we find comfort in eachother, so it may actually bring you closer than you thought. See how you feel and go with the flow. And hey maybe you'll get lucky and conceive without even full on TTC you know? Less stressful that way for sure! Keep us posted!

Monkey, congrats on no more pills! Good Luck!

AFM, I am 5dpo. I plan on testing on 10dpo. So 5 more days!!!!!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

BB- I took the smiley face OPKs and the same thing happened to me. I got the surge only on CD 18 and it was gone the next day (FYI-we BD'd CD18, CD19, and CD20 and it worked) If I am not mistaken, you actually ovulate after the LH surge so I think even if the LH levels went down, it doesn't necessarily mean you have ovulated yet. I think you are completely good with your IUI appointment. Plus I believe you have 24 hours to conceive after you O.

Charb- That's so cool about 11/11/11! I remembered when 6/6/06 hit a lot of pregnant mom's were trying to hold their baby in so they wouldn't have a 666 birthday...it doesn't sound very healthy but I'm not really superstitious.

Lizzy- Stay strong on holding out the testing. Can't wait for your BFP.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ok, I had my IUI this afternoon. I think it went pretty well. I asked the nurse about my lack of smiley face today and she said not to worry. She said that I will likely only get one smiley per cycle but that I shouldn't worry. So now its on to the 2ww.

Just checking in. I am 3 DPO and wondering when I can start testing. My MD says 2 weeks PO but of course I can't stop thinking about it. What is the earliest you guys have tested?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

BB, on my last cycle I tested at 9dpo and got a negative, then tested at 10dpo and got a positive. Is your Doctor having you go in for bloodwork to do an HCG beta pregnancy test? Because if so you'll be able to do that test a lot earlier than a home pregnancy test. When my friend went for her IUI's I believe her Dr. had her come in for bloodwork so many days after ovulation. I'm not sure exactly how many though. Did your Dr. mention it at all or is the plan just to do the home pregnancy test? You don't start creating HCG till implantation and usually implantation happens 6-10 days after ovulation. Try to hold out!!! I am 8dpo right now and I have tests in the house!!! You have no idea how bad I want to start peeing on them! But I'd rather wait till 10dpo.

BB and Lizzy, Hooray ladies!! Keeping fingers for both of you.

Lizzy you can make it to 10 DPO! How was your weekend? Do you think you guys are still going to take a little FL getaway? You totally should! I'm *D.O.N.E* with winter right now...

BB, hope things are going OK for you, lady. I wouldn't sweat testing just yet, you might get yourself worked up for nothing.

AFM, not much... Ski trip is this weekend, WOO HOO!!! I'm on CD42 with no O in sight! Argh!

Hi LC, we put the Florida trip on hold once we got the ok to try again this month. We originally thought we were going to have to wait a month so we were going to go to Florida for some rest and relaxation and help pass the time. But when we got the green light we decided to put it off. You are a skiing lady over there! Have a great trip!!! Hopefully AF or O will come soon for you! Tomorrow I will be 10dpo and three days before AF is due and I will test in the morning. Crossing all fingers and toes to get some good news!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

General question for you ladies about CM. In white in case it's TMI...How would you classify CM that looks lotiony but is still stretchy (only a few centimeters)?

Not much going on here. I have some production activity going on when I'm on my vacation. :( So I need to check in. Booo!

AFM - BD marathon is this week, hopefully starting tonight! I expect to O this weekend. Didn't want to get into rigorous temping and charting, but may buy a small pack of ovulation predictor strips at the drug store... it would be nice to know if I definitely O and when. So we'll see!

Hi ladies, I got a BFN this morning. :(( But I have not lost hope. I am three days before my expected period and I have been counting O as the first day that I got the LH surge, but this cycle I had three days of positive LH surge so I could have O'd later than I thought. I will try again tomorrow. Please send me some dust!

Just popping in to wish you lots of luck, LizzyAnn! I'm sending dust your way!

Sending you lots of dust, too, BB!

LC, have you and hubs been BDing lately? I only ask because it could be...you know...that. DreamerD used to mention a test, I think if it's EWCM, it dissolves in water, but if it's...you know...that...then it doesn't dissolve as easily. I could be wrong, I'd have to go back and look.
