Laura, Dreamer is the charting expert but I'll take a stab. I think you want to look for a sustained temp shift. So my guess is you haven't o'd yet.

Laura, I think you O on the 17day, so I think you still have a chance to get a positive this cycle. Crossing my fingers for you.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Laura Your temps in the next few days will tell the tale. If you remove your CF and the OPKs from the chart, what happens? Based only on temps it does not look like an ovulatory chart BUT there is error in temping. If you are positive about your CF (it can take months to get a really good feel for your CF patterns and to learn to differentiate CF from semen) and you are positive about the OPK then the likely day is CD 16 or 17. Time will tell!

BB, woo hoo! It isn't everyday that you get to cheer for AF arriving! When do you think you will go in for an IUI? I hope you can get the house floors figured out as soon as possible. I know it sucks to have your house in turmoil. Home is supposed to be wear you can rest and relax and instead you keep looking at the damaged floors which sucks. Keep us posted!

Laura, thank you for welcoming me back. I don't chart so I am no help in that department! But you are in excellent hands with Dreamer!

LC, no I'm not planning a ski trip. I am trying to plan a trip to Florida. I need some warmth. My DH travels a lot for work, so he hates traveling in general. So it is like pulling teeth trying to get him to commit. I use to ski when I was younger and when I went to try it again as an adult I got to the top of the hill and was scared to come down. :o So no more skiing for me!

Pumpkin, thanks for the welcome! I am crossing my fingers my Dr. gives me the ok to try again this month. Getting pregnant again will be the ultimate healing power! I am crossing my fingers for a positive test tomorrow for you! All your symptoms do sound like pregnancy signs!

AFM, I had a beta drawn today so when I meet with my Dr. tomorrow he'll have the new results. I am hoping it is down to 0. My bleeding has stopped now so I think everything should be all clear. My Dr. is very comforting and always has a positive approach and game plan so I know I will feel better after my appointment. If he tells me I need to wait the month before trying again, I will listen as I do not want to set myself up for another one if he feels it is too early for me to start again. But if he gives me the green light, I told my DH to be ready and willing!!! :naughty: I bought some more OPK's today so I will start using those tomorrow.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

NEL - Thanks for the welcome and sorry about Byron :( Hopefully things will come together soon and you'll be right back in the thick of things here :))

Lizzy - Good to have you here, even if it's for a less than desirable reason. I hope the doctor clears you to try soon.

LC - I'm sending short cycle dust your way... do you see the clouds?? Come on, O!!!

Blackberry - Flooding?! Ew. But hey, new floors! That happened to my parents right after they put in new hardwoods and the washing machine flooded. Luckily, they got new wood floors in even more rooms than before! Not sure if it was worth the hassle though... hope it straightens out soon! And yay for AF! You must be excited for IUI.

PP - YAY SYMPTOMS!! Fingers are way crossed for you!

Laura - Actually the TWW isn't so bad. I just found out that DH's cousin's wife is pregnant (not without difficulty and surgery so I am super happy for them) and it made me a little more excited for the possibility that we could be, but I wouldn't mind if it didn't happen for a few months, either. So while I am very excited, I'm also glad that it will be a while before I really start to worry. (I say that now... let's see how I am in the next couple months. Hah!)

AFM, trucking along at somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 days DPO if I had to guess? Not charting makes it hard to fall in with you ladies and be accurate! Haha. I know we imagine symptoms all the time, but for those who have been pregnant before, how soon do you REALLY begin to have symptoms? Pre-positive test, or post? I probably shouldn't ask, don't want to be neurotic, but I'm curious. :))

I do really wish it would warm up, though. The 83 degree tropical weather last week in Punta Cana was far preferable to tonights -12. :(sad

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Blackberry - I'm glad that AF finally arrived. When will you have your IUI?

LizzyAnn - I am so impressed by your spirit after this miscarriage. I admire you - I don't think that i could cope half as well as you are :) Good luck with the next round of BD marathon!

Katy- I would like to know that answer too. I don't chart either so I don't know when/if I ovulate, but I swear I'm feeling symptoms lately!

However - I tested again this morning (CD 31) no signs of AF/spotting - but the test is still negative :(( I have been so convinced that I'm pregnant - I'm not looking fowrard to the possible disappointment soon

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ladies, great news! My Dr. gave me the ok to try again right away. He said that because the m/c was so early, there is no reason to wait! He said that he recommended me to see a fertility specialist, but he said keep trying in the meantime. He ran a bunch of tests on me in 08 when I was TTC the first time around - chromosomal and many others and all came back normal. so my next step would be to see the specialist. I think it is a great strategy - keep trying and make an appt to see a specialist. Can't hurt either way you know. Tomorrow morning will be my first morning of OPK's. Wish me luck ladies!

PP, thank you for your support. I think the m/c is less hard on me this time around because I do have my son. Last time I just kept wondering if I ever would have a baby. But this time I know my body can do it, so it is more of a comfort. Your test is still negative though huh? How long are your cycles usually?

Katy, I get symptoms early but everyone is different. I'd say I got some right around the time my period is due. Mostly sore bb's and tiredness. When do you plan on testing?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy, that IS awesome news!! :appl: :appl: :appl:

Your doctor sounds like one smart cookie, how nice that you didn't even have to ask to be referred! One way or another, I'm sure you'll find yourself with an adorable #2 before too long!!

I don't plan on testing until I miss my period... unless I find myself with crazy symptoms that make me desperate to find out for sure, hahaha. That plan will have me testing around the 20th of Feb... so about 10 days to go  I don't really have a great feeling about this month. Today I was kinda gassy like I get right before AF comes along, but it's way early for that, so I don't really know what to think about that. Not going to turn it into something it's not though - sometimes a girl just eats the wrong food, right? ;))

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Lizzy- Great news on trying again immediately and that all the test came normal  . You are a very strong person to be dealing with this m/c. Please keep us updated and good luck!

Pumpkin- It's not over until AF shows up! Keep your head up hun.

Blackberry- Yay for this month's IUI- we're all rooting for you! It's weird because I normally get more disappointed with a BFN than AF showing up. It's like once AF is here, I'm already focused on the next cycle.

LC- OMG you're going to Jackson Hole? I heard the skiing there is AMAZING! You should come to Utah too. I just went 3 weeks ago and it was super fun at snowbird. I'm not really that great of a skiier and I got in some of the green runs and I was like :-o there is no way this is a green hehe! Any new updates with your cycle? I heard it takes a couple of months to become your ol' fertile self after BC but it still sucks having longer cycles.

NEL- So sorry to hear about Byron :(( . I really hope he starts feeling better soon. I think you should take as much time as need before full blown TTC because TTC by itself is stressful enough IMHO. Are you using digital OPKs?

Gaby- sorry about the BFN! Well, when I was on clomid my chart said I only had an 11 day luteal phase but when I was on Femara it went up to 15 days. I also notice that I don't get AF until I see my temp drop and it stays low for about a day or so.

Po- I was becoming quite the TTC monster too! I'm happy to see you are still lurking!

Well AFM- I look a break from TTC forums and kept my obsessive googling at a minimum because I was becoming quite the psychopath. Just to give you a quick update I got a smiley face on my OPK on CD18 and I had some watery CM on CD17...DH and I tried some marathod BD'ing and now I'm 13dpo and.....BFP!!! :appl: I can't #@*(@&# believe it! I actually didn't go to work today because I had a horrible sore throat but sitting in the house all day trying to recover just made me obsess about testing. So I first tested with an internet cheapie on CD10 and I kept imagining these phantom BFP line than DH said is a BFmaybe so just realized I needed to wait instead of spending hours tilting the test. Fast forward to today and I got a BFP on the internet cheapie, clearblue, and now this Kroger brand that is not suppose to detect + until missed period! I called DH and he's super happy but he was also awkward since he was with a co-worker when I called! So I just drove to the RE's office to get my blood drawn just to confirm and I'll find out tomorrow morning. Omg *finger crossed* that I have good beta!!!! I know a bazillion things can happen right now but I thought you TTC ladies should know this news since I'm not planning to tell any family and friends until we are out of the first trimester. Is this a strong enough BFP or did I just imagine this?

Fabcrab, this is absolutely a big fat positive!!! Congratulations to you!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: Crossing my fingers for some strong betas along the way!

Katy, I give you so much credit to wait to test. I don't know if I could wait that long!!! But I get obsessive!

Fabcrab....that is a FAB BFP! Congrats, momma, you're preggo! Wooohooo! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:
and yes, tons of things can happen...but try not to dwell on it and just enjoy the overwhelming joy!

(Ps: good luck not telling anyone until the end of the first tri... ;)) I wish I had some of that discipline.

YAYYYY FABCRAB!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats on that BFP!!!!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl: :appl:

Tons of sticky bean dust headed your way!!!

Lizzy - Haha. I may be patient for now, but we'll see how some time treats me. Likely the longer it takes to get pregnant, the more obsessive I'll get... so I'm kinda hoping this month or next month will be it ;)) I can only maintain the calm until I get to the point where I'm convinced something is horribly wrong with me... hah!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks you guys!!!!

Katy- Good luck to you!! I have the same problem of obsessing and overanalyzing the situation and then my mind starts running wild well what if this or that.

Mini update- just heard back from my results--soo fast I know. My beta is at 42 but the nurse actually think I am 12dpo not 13 if that makes a difference. Anyways, they want me to repeat the test on Monday but she sounds super positive given where I am here. OMG this is surreal...I'm going to re-POAS on Saturday just to see if the test line gets daker...EEK!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LizzyAnn- congrats on getting the go-ahead so soon! my cycles tend to be kind of long. average is probably 32 or 33.. when they're regular! :) I will test again on Saturday or Sunday.

I am so convinced though - my breasts are sore and swollen, my whole body aches, I'm experiencing what I think might be 'post nasal drip', tons of CM. Perhaps it's just not late enough yet..

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Fab!!!! Fantastic!!!!! :appl: :appl: :appl: (Cough, cough) Is it dusty there? because you're gettin' a truck load of PS Baby Dust dumped on you ::) I know, I'm totally cheesy  UT skiing?? I L  VE Little Cottonwood Canyons!!!! Been there 3 times and I was telling my sister if I had the chance to buy a ski home, it'd *TOTALLY* be in Little Cottonwood. I've been to Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird. Sadly no Alta yet, just didn't work out with timing etc. And Sis's BF is a boarder so he won't be allowed to go. Sigh!!!! I love it!

BB Woo hoo!!!! I'm excited for your IUI this cycle! DCGator got her BFP with an IUI (maybe her second?). Hope the flooding damage is an easy/quick fix. I know how stressful it can be. Is it covered by your homeowners?

Lizzy, fantastic news that you can get right back in the saddle again. And you can give your DH a giggle with the legs up thing. Hee hee. Good luck with the fertility specialist. You're right, sounds like a great plan to DTD and make an appt. OMG I'm SO SO JEALOUS of your nice warm FL trip!! It was -6F here, I *haaaaaate* Loathe Chicago winters.

Katy, How are you feeling, Hope Fab's BFP juju rubs off :) Hope you can hold off till the 20th. We'll distract you until then asking you all about your vacation. THanks for the short cycle dust, but I think I'll be O'ing around CD31 again. That should be might right around Valentine's Day. Which would be awesome if we were actually TTC for real... :)

Pumpkie, fingers are sill crossed for you. You're still in the race and we're cheering you on :)

No much going on here. I'm using this time to get a better handle on my CF. LIke Dreamer said a few posts up, it's kinda tricky and I've been on HBC for so long, I have no idea what this looks like. Charts are kinda boring, I forgot to record a few days, but it's pre-O so no big....

Lizzy, I saw your MC support thread and my heart broke for you. I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how fearful you were based on past experiences, so I was really hoping you wouldn't be faced with this.

Fabcrab, congrats to you and I'm sending you lots of sticky dust!

Thanks to all for your well-wishes for Byron. Taking everything a day a time a this point, even decisions around TTC.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Ladies!!!!!! I am so excited I *had* to post here!! Turns out my insurance covers a group of nurse midwives who work within the UW Health system, and I will be allowed to see them instead of an OBGYN! There are always physicians/OBs available in case anything goes wrong, but assuming a normal pregnancy, I will be able to have an intervention-free, baby friendly birth!! And you still give birth in the hospital, just under the care of the midwife, so if anything happens there will be no lack of assistance available.

This is totally awesome for the half of me that loves that modern medicine saves the lives of mothers and children all the time, and the other half of me that hates that birth has become so medicalized and wants something as "natural" as possible. (Putting natural in quotation marks because I don't actually consider Cesareans "unnatural", just undesirable)

Phewf.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Katy, scarlet, Mrs, NEL, Po, LC, pumpkin, charbie, and Lizzy- Thank you guys so much for all your support!!!! I am really hoping for a sticky bean. I took another test today and it's still positive and it seems like the preggo line is darker so it's reassuring even though I know it's not quantitative. So far no symptoms really except for a cold tingly feeling on my chest and stomach area...it's quite weird!!! Turns out I won't be able to get tested for my second beta until Tuesday since our clinic is closed but that's ok--if all goes well my first u/s will be Mar and so far I am having a hard time not spilling the beans to everyone I know!

LC- That's so cool about you coming and skiing in snowbird. Isn't the view spectacular at the top of the mountain??? (Of course I opted to take the tram down lol!). Yeah Alta is very close to my heart because I skied there for the very first time last year but other than that I actually feel like there's a lot of "ski snobs" there since all they talk about is how happy they are that there are no snowboarders but in my experience skiers can be just as "bad" in the slopes! Man I really hope you enjoy your ski trip!! I actually have a friend coming this week to go skiing with me and DH but I have to make up some reason why I can't go.

Congrats again FabCrab!!!

As for me - CD 34 and another BFN :nono: I was so convinced that I was pregnant.
I just don't understand, but I suspect it's just my body screwing with me again and this will be another 40-50 day cycle. What a frustrating process!

Pumpkin, are you charting? Since I started charting I don't have to suffer anymore waiting, because AF comes always in 2 weeks. When I was not charting it was very frustrating the wait.

I'm CD 5 today, no luck this month. :(

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

LadyBlue - thanks for the suggestion but charting a 40-60 day cycle is not particularly useful for me. I have tried and it's unclear whether I even do ovulate (my dr. has also expressed her doubt that I do)- there's not usually a 2 week anything in my world!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Pumpkin, I'm so sorry about that. My cycles are usually between 35 and 50 days. Usually 40 days most of them. I still chart and I see the temperature changes. I have not shown my charts to any Gyno, so I don't have any professional opinions on it. I had been "trying" for a year now, so I'm sure there is something wrong. But It has been so much easier now that I chart than before. In the past I would start testing after day 28. One month I got 20 BFN in a row ;( .

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Pumpkin I am sorry about the confusing cycle. Full out charting might not help, but do you get any cervical fluid to help you pinpoint ovualtion?

I know of a few posters on here who assumed they were ovulating in days x-y and it turned out they were ovulating later and missing the fertile window each month. With long and irregular cycles, that very well could be going on for you guys as well.

It is tiring, but have you thought of DTD every 2-3 days for basically, the whole cycle? If you can manage it would cover the bases.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Pumpkin, bummer about the long cycles. 50ish days is crazy long. Dreamer has a good point about CF, but I find it's kinda difficult to determine what kind of CF I'm seeing. Thus far I have not seen any EWCM yet. But I did see a lot of lotion-y style CM.

LadyBlue, 20 BFN in a row. That can be so discouraging. Bless you for staying on it. Has you r OB mentioned any changes to your TTC plan to try to change your results a bit?

Not much going on here. I let it slip to a friend that James and I want to start a family this year and my friend got so excited. Then she asked if we were trying now, and I said "No way, I wanna ski in WY!" (My friend's coming to Jackson with us.) She was like "I hear ya!"

My girlfriend had a baby Jan 15th, he was 5+ weeks early. So yesterday we went to see the newest JV team member. (My sis and I call the babies the Junior Varsity team.) He's still really tiny but pretty healthy. Very chill. DH did NOT want to hold the baby at all.
