Did you put the numbers into the HCA? I normally look for pav. angles at 41.0 max.

Hi Litchick,

I would pass on both of these for the following reasons. The first has a very steep pavilion angle which can be undesirable, this can cause light leakage. The second not only has another very steep pavilion angle but this is exacerbated by a steep crown angle also, what we call a ' steep deep'. This also means light leakage is a probability, this means light will escape from the diamond and it won't sparkle as well as it could do. In severe cases you can sometimes see a dark ring around the table of the stone, known as ' the ring of death.'

I would keep looking personally, did you find these online? What are they intended for, an engagement ring?

Thanks everyone. Helping a friend shop for an engagement ring. These were shown to him by a local diamond broker I have used in the past.

He is unlikely to find the quality of stones that we have recommended already. But perhaps that is not something he values.
