Well first of all I would like to say hello to everyone and that this website has really opened my eyes and given me alot of information that I had no idea existed. And that its real good that people like yourselfs are here to help out others like myself. Anyways this is my dilemma, Its been 6 years or so that ive been with my girlfriend and I think its about that time to ask her for her hand in marriage. (if her parents allow me) My problems is im still not to certain on the 4 C's, especially cut. I have around $3500 tops to spend on a ring, i would like more but she will not let me spend more. I have gone to alot of Mall Jewelery store's and looked and I did run into one ring that I really like and caught my eye, it was at a Whitehall Jewelery store and it was called White Star, 1ct Princess E vs1 $3600 but I dont know the cut but it really did shine very nicely. The settings I would like is kinda like this http://tinyurl.com/5rx35

sorry that is so long!!

But i want the center stone to be an ideal cut princess .75 or bigger with good color and eye clean. Main thing is a very good Cut, i want it to blind people when they look at it. If possible please give me a couple of idea's on settings and stones.

Thank you very much,
Darien

Mall stores are likely to overcharge you on price, I would definitely check other options as well. I will defer to the experts on shopping on-line, since I have not bought a stone yet. I do know that my original e-ring was from a mall and I know my husband got ripped off!! (He did not bring me along

)

I think it is so important to get the facts certified about the stone, there are different certs...

I don't know anything about a princess cut, but I am already sure you will make a wise purchase by the mere fact you are on this website! Good luck!

Thanks Elmo for the help, but can i ask what exactly is an E-Ring? Ive seen pictures of people's rings and some of them are beautiful. Is it just an online purchased ring?

"E-ring" is short for ENGAGEMENT ring. Thus, "w-ring" would refer to the WEDDING band/ring.

Hmmmm...there is no way in HECK that you're gonna get a 1 carat E vs1 for 3500 bucks. I would be very careful is someone has offered you that...

These might be nice...

OOHHHHH now I feel really stupid not knowing what E-ring and W-ring meant! Im sorry guy's. Yeah MMM that is exactly why I didn't buy it. I just looked at it closly and I didnt see anything with the naked eye and it did shine but I was wondering if I could go get it and see what the return policy is and get it check out and if its not up to standards I would take it back. Do any of you possible know a good appraiser here in Oklahoma City?

Thanks alot, keep all the info coming!

This has nothing to do with the original post, but to make long URLs more manageable, try TinyURL. The TinyURL for the original post's long URL is just http://tinyurl.com/5rx35

Superidealist thank you very much for showing me that website! Like I said im sorry for the long url, that will not happen again. Anyone know a good place to look at antique style bands that are pretty reasonable? Should i stick with a 3/4 diamond with a perfect cut or step up to a 1ct that doesnt have as good as a cut?
