Regardless of whether you are mentally prepared/may change your mind later/et cetera et cetera et cetera, it is my understanding that (at least in the United States) you will be hard-pressed to find a doctor who will perform a hysterectomy before the age of 40 unless there is medical need. A close friend of mine was in the same boat as you; she''d decided at age 20ish that she didn''t intend to have children, and looked into getting this procedure around the age of 34. Every doctor she asked refused flat-out. Of course, their basis of reason was "you could change your mind, and it''s clearly irreversible". I''m not sure whether it is an ethics issue, in their eyes? REGARDESS of their reasons, it just wasn''t gonna happen.

Now she''s in her 40s and still doesn''t want kids. Go figure.

I''d agree with the other posters (that your man should go ahead and have a vasectomy), if only because you don''t have any options, surgery-wise.
