Hello everyone,
This is my first ever question. I wanted to say since i found you all a couple a weeks ago I thought had a fair understanding of diamonds. How wrong was I!!!
When buying my one carat solitaire upgrade a number of years ago the only thing that was in my mind was reasonable colour, say G to H and VS clarity. I stupidly thought that cut simply meant shape!! I hasten to add no jeweller attempted to correct my limited knowledge in this area either!!https://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/29.gif
I did look mostly at B & M shops but with a view to buying a graded stone. This seemed like the only way I could guarantee a level of quality rather than trusting a jeweller to tell me honestly what it was. It now seems that although I adore my stone its specification I ended up with doesn''t much look like any I have seen on here.
It is a very bright, sparkly diamond that I and others have much admired since I got it but having done comparisons to the numbers elements on everyone else''s mine seems way off!! I realize it will never be a greatly desirable stone but I would appreciate your input on this.
I will detail below all the specifications from my HRD certificate and would love to hear from you if you own or have seen something similar to mine. Or feel free to comment on any aspect of it. I would love to know more about it really. ( Be gentle with me though!!!! I do realize hearts and arrows she isn''t! LOL)

I''m no expert, but I''m guessing that you have a very bright stone, with lots of white light return

The holloway cut advisor is a fun tool to play around with. You can plug in different proportions and it will estimate how the stone will perform

Thank you! I will give that a go. I will post a picture when my fabulously techy husband returns from his business trip!
