(Wouldn''t insure the gold probably ... safety deposit box?) Eh, I''ll take the gold. Where am I gonna wear 100K worth of bling. LOL!
It''d be a shame to put all the gold in a safe deposit box when you could play with it all day. It would be like kids'' blocks, except for grown ups. You could stack it up and make little houses or even build a little gold pyramid to decorate your living room. Way too much fun!

if you really think about it...$100K doesn''t buy much today. say at $900 per oz,$100k =111 oz of gold,so not that much to play with.

I have no idea about stocks so I would go property but 100k wouldn''t even buy you a townhouse or a unit here - houses are expensive and they aren''t that great either.

I would have chosen the home but around here, you can''t really get much (if anything) for $100K. My next choice would be a car...I think.

Hmmm, I wonder how much an eternity ring like Katiedid''s would go for? It''s beautful and I''d love to have one someday...

$100K wouldn''t buy a house where I live. The prices sky rocketed over the past few years to a ridiculous high. I would take the diamond thank you very much!

(A)... $100K diamond ring of your choice.
(B)... $100K car(s) of your choice,it could be collector cars.
(C)... $100K home where you live now,but you must live in it for the next 5 yrs.
(d)....$100K worth of S&P stock (SPY),but you must hold for at next 5 yrs.
(E)....$100K worth of gold bullion, but you must hold for the next 5 yrs.
Hmmm ... since you couldn''t buy a shack or a studio apartment in my neighborhood for $100K, B is out. The gold sounds like it might be the best investment choice, but since gold is higher than it''s ever been, chances are the value could go down in 5 years. The car and the diamond would be great, but I would feel like those were too frivolous.

I guess I pick D. I still believe in the market, especially investing now at such a low. In five years, I could cash out and get my Maserati, and my $100K diamond ;-)

Hrm ... tricky. I would say the house, but around here $100k will buy you a shack with a tin roof

I would love the diamond ring, but since we need to save for a house I''d feel really bad about that one. So most likely the stock.

I''d buy a house in the neighborhood I live in now... It''d be a crummy fixer-upper rowhome. But then we could save up for a nice down payment on a second house in the next 5 years. Then I''d rent out the rowhome, or sell it (maybe in 5 years it''ll be a seller''s market?)

I would choose this, if it bought more than a cardboard box on the side of the road where I live

I''d take D!

Unfortunately 100K couldn''t get us ANYTHING to live in where I''m from...otherwise, C would have been my choice.

E. I would never wear A. I would never drive B. And a decent home in my area, and we live where it is cheap, is at least $150K. We know what D is worth.

Exactly. I did a search on quite a wide radius around where I live and the only thing under $100K I could find is the following beauty:

Oh, and that is for "single-family homes." I didn''t search condos and manufactured homes/trailers.

The car, my honey loves cars. Plus you can''t get much of a home for 100k in colorado

And I don''t have much faith in stocks with the way the economy is, I don''t wear jewelery THAT much and I''m not even sure what a bullion is (don''t you make soup with that? lol)
