I'm guessing medium to thick or more. Hopefully, someone more knowledgable will come along or I'll find the answer for you.

Different labs use different systems for girdle:

If it is 1.5-2.7% in AGS certificate then it's slightly thing girdle.

GIA
Extremely thin 0.00 - 0.08 mm
Very thin 0.08 - 0.12 mm
Thin 0.12 - 0.15 mm
Medium 0.15 - 0.20 mm
Slightly thick 0.20 - 0.23 mm
Thick 0.23 - 0.33 mm
Very thick 0.33 - 0.40 mm
Extremely Thick: greater than 0.40 millimeters

AGS
Very thin 0.091 - 0.50%
Thin 0.51 - 1.2%
Medium 1.21 - 1.7%
Slightly thick 1.71 - 2.95%
Thick 2.96 - 4.2%
Very thick 4.21 - 5.7%
Extremely Thick: >= 5.71 %

HRD
Ex.Thin 0.0 - 0.5%
Very Thin 0.5 - 1.5%
Thin 1.5 - 2.5%
Medium 2.5 - 4.5%
Sl.Thick 4.5 - 6.0%
Thick 6.0 - 7.5%
Very Thick 7.5 - 8.0%
Ex. Thick 8.0 - 100%

Good charts Leonid!

So Larry-the girdle on that one seems cool. What about the rest of the diamond?

It came out 0.8 on the cut advisor. I am considering a platinum or white gold six prong tiffany or a 3 diamond version with two smaller diamonds on either side any suggestions? Can anyone recommend a good place to find rings? Any estimate on how much to pay for this diamond?

Feel free to visit the following websites for exquisite looking Platinum rings:

www.stuller.com
www.overnightmountings.com

They specialize in Platinum mountings.
Some vendors here have accounts with them and could supply the ring for you.

Found this chart here posted by Leonid. Why do the labs not agree on very thin, thin, medium etc. Is very thin seen as a bad thing by GIA or is it okay as they are allowing a higher millimetre measurement for very thin? Whereas very thin would not get an AGS 0 from their percentage measurement. Ofcourse I know GIA does not rate cut but do you know what their views are on very thin is it a negative when buying a diamond in GIA's opinion?

No. Most ideal cut diamonds have girdles ranging anywhere from thin up to slightly thick. In terms of percentages it should not fall below .51% of the diameter or above 2.95% of the diameter. If you peruse browse Sarin/OGI analysis or AGS Reports you'll see girdle thickness listed in %'s. On a GIA Report they use the descriptive terms of thin, medium, etc.

Peace,

Great charts Leonid. Looking at the stark contrast between HRD & AGS standards it makes me wonder if they are measuring the girdle thickness at the same places on the girdle. For the curious ... AGS measures the girdle thickness in a place called the "valleys'. There are actually 3 places around the girdle where measurements are taken. For more detailed info check out this link in our tutorial... http://www.goodoldgold.com/the_girdle.htm

Peace,
Rhino
