Suggestions for temporary settings

I have a round diamond that I''ve wanted to set into a ring for a while so I can wear the darned thing. I was looking at Diana collection solitaires on line and they look nice to me. They are substantial and yet not very expensive especially in palladium, but no jewelry store has samples to try on. So..... please give me your suggestions for a temporary home for my round diamond. At some point, I do want to have a custom mounting made for it, but it''s not in the cards now. I''d prefer six prongs over four, but at this point I''m open to all suggestions.
