It took forever but finally decided to go with the 9.0-9.5 mm White Akoya Baroque Pearl Necklace from PP for my first necklace. I am going to call since the code is not working online and they will open soon. It was under my budget so I thought I can get a Tahitian strand. Which Tahitian strand would your recommend:

Also, any earring suggestions? Maybe a drop earring.

I personally like the second choice. I love the colors and the size, but the shapes of the third are really nice too.

I also like the second choice best. Because the photos are taken in studio lighting, expect the colors not to be as varied or bright in "real life" lighting, however, I think the second necklace is the one that is most likely to be colorful.
I also find the shapes pleasing.
And the larger size. =)

I just want to add that typically PP has a big Tahitians sale in August, with a large selection, in case you prefer to wait for more choices.

During August, typically new strands are released every week. So even if you don't find what you want the first or second week, try again.

Also, people have nimble fingers! Strands sell fast so you have to check the website ASAP after new strands are released. (I think last year new strands were released on Tuesdays but it may be different this year.) If you make a purchase now you should be on the mailing list to get emails when strands are released-- or just go online and check the website.

Here are discussion threads from the 2 previous sales:

Also between now and then you may wish to read the following thread:

Tahitians have body colors and overtone colors. The studio lighting brings out overtones, but the pearls will not display those intense colors to the same degree in normal light. I find that the overtone colors show up more indoors, and on overcast/cloudy days outdoors. On sunny days outdoors or under bright lights indoors, the body color predominates instead.

If you want a strand that shows more colors under all lighting, look for a multicolor strand. (That is, the body colors themselves are varied.)
