Doubled tin cup?

Does anyone have pictures of opera length tin cup necklaces that have been doubled over to make a shorter necklace?

I am thinking of having some circle Tahitians made into a 36" tin cup necklace that I can wrap around twice.

Thank you!

I NEED this, or something like this, because I am pretty sure someone already owns this beauty!

My tin cups. I have a freshwater color-change metallic and a multi-colored Tahitian booth 42 inches long. The white south sea is 74 inches.

4Ranch, your tin cups are amazing! I love the 42" length...enough to double or wear long. And wow, that color changing FWP one is a standout.

Thank you Pirard. I have had my golden strand for many many years. I took them to PP as a color comparison for NL to see next to her new strand that I was choosing for her that day.

Ranch, I also love your metallic drops...that's my next tin cup purchase, following something special being made for my birthday next month. I love to layer and I find tin cups perfect components for that purpose. Your pearls are stunning, as are you!

What? There's a video? Is this the Ruckus video or something else?

I think the length depends on what size works best for you. If you are quite petite then maybe 34 is perfect..if you are quite tall then you may want it a bit longer. I usually make them around 38-40 as that gives you an 18 and 20 inch doubled necklace or 20 and 20 etc. It's a good idea to get a piece of heavy string and measure it out, tie it off and wear it as a long strand.. see what is the best length for a single strand. Then double that and see how that works .. then you can adjust it so you get the best fit.

I find that doubled is the way most people like to wear them...they are fabulous doubled.

If everyone just wears them doubled, why not get two separate necklaces? Get an 18' and a 20".

It can be worn as one long one with all the pearls spaced out evenly, joining 2 strands together is unlikely to give the same effect/result.

Also, one long one can provide the wearer different options, e.g. 2 strands of equal length; or variations in the gap between the top and bottom strands etc. to suit the outfit/mood/etc...

DK :))

P.S. I can't wear long strands due to my ample chest - they just do not sit properly for my liking. Therefore, no 1920's style for me.

same here BUT I have found the versatility of a long strand is a better buy for me than buying two shorter lengths and wearing them together.

I find it depends on how the stations are spaced. I have to say my most favorite length of all is 54" because I can wrap it so many times around (have a great pearl with cz station piece that I got from JRipka years ago)...that one is a workhorse. But I also adore my tahitian tin cup and am actually having a second one made in multicolor.

Well sometimes you want the length of the rope ... they can be a bit of a nuisance as you have to be so careful not to catch it on anything..I always tell people to take them off when they get home lol If I wanted something that tripled then I'd look at two necklaces...one rope that turned to approx. 18 and 22 and then a separate necklace that is 24 ish ..

Such lovely ropes ! wonderful photos !
