Hi All! I am new around here, sort of... I have been lurking since I stumbled on this website about 2 months ago. Me and the BF went ring shopping 3 different times and it has turned into a mild obsession
 . Even though I feel like it might be bad luck, add me to the list? I have loved reading all the stories and words of encouragment from the other LIW... it has saved me from turning into a monster while I wait! I look forward to getting to know you all

Ok. I'm biting the bullet. (Again!)
May I please be added to the list.......again? I was on the list from '04-'06 and made it to #1. And stayed there. For a long, long.....very long time. And then it was bad. Sad panda was sad And then it got BETTER. I got to a really good place on my own, and when I least expected it, an even better place *not* on my own! Anyway. I'm back! New life, new man, and have truly never been happier. We've only been dating a little under four months, but this is IT in a way we both have never known it before. It took me ten years the last time to know for sure it was wrong, and I knew this one was right in about ten hours. We've actually known each other for a year and a half, but I had no idea he'd had this crush on me until we finally got together around the New Year. We've now moved in together in a new place (where we're saving tons of money), tentatively picked a wedding date (the goal is before I'm 36, so that's before June 2010), our friends and family have all taken to us being together like, "oh! Well, DUH, of COURSE!", and things are so good. (Plus, all the wedding/kids/forever talk has been initiated by him. Which is such a wonderful change. Of course I'm right there with him, but given my history....it's nice.) We have a ridiculous number of small world connections--mutual family friends (our respective best friends are second cousins) and it just seems in EVERY way like we're meant to be together. I've never felt like this. Ever. He's never even wanted to get married or have kids before me, and now he can't wait. The earlier PS incarnation of myself would have said, "3 1/2 MONTHS, are you CRAZY, take your time!" And yet :) I have never felt so safe and loved and certain in my life. He's 29 (I'm going on 35). And he's adorable, brilliant, hilarious. And sings like a freaking angel (He's a professional musician, so I finally have someone in my life who truly GETS my crazy schedule without reservation.) It's not all merry sunshine--we have had arguments. The difference is that we both so earnestly want to communicate and be kind to each other and really cherish what we have. We plan to do some preemptive pre-marital counseling to learn how to argue, if that makes sense--his idea! We just want to be equipped to continue to treat each other--and our relationship--with the care and reverence it deserves. The gist of it is that we have truly become partners. And aside from all of that relationshippy talk, we have a ridiculous amount of fun together and laugh all the time. So....can I get back on the list?

My gay boyfriend commented that the real boyfriend looks like Mark from RENT in this one, complete with the "unnecessary indoor scarf." (My sweetie gets along like a house on fire with my "boys", by the way....so important! They''re very protective, and all seem to approve.) This was going out the door for Valentine''s Day.

I feel guilty that I'm popping on and off right now, but I want to get in at least a couple times a week routine again...PS is a very special place. (And apple, that's exactly it..."easy" It's easy!) Oh, YAY!!! I am sure all of us who followed your last relationship are totally thrilled that you have found someone who REALLY loves you and makes you truly happy!!!  I''ll say that my daughter also met someone during the holidays and they had that instant connection, too! So I''ll agree that you can certainly know if you''ve found "THE ONE" after 3 1/2 months!

Hello ladies, I can officially say I''m a lady in waiting because me and the bf have been talking about getting married for...a good 6 months, we''ve been ring shopping, and he keeps saying "soon" (yes I''m impatient and I ask him everyday when we''re getting married ) I''m starting to get antsy-pantsy. There''s really no hurry for me (I''m turning 24 in August), but he''s almost 40 and I want our children to have a fun and active father growing up.Anyway, enough about me. I want to hear about other waiting ladies'' experiences! I think this list is such a fun idea! |

I''m getting so excited! We have had a couple great discussions in the past week about our time line and I''m 100% confident that we will be engaged by JULY!!
After reading on another message board about a planted proposal trip (for us ladies with lazy boys - where you plan a romantic trip and he grabs the opportunity to propose, without much of a clue that you had a hand in it) I decided to try this out myself. A few months ago I told him we should go up to Niagara-on-the-Lake in the summer, he thought this was cool, whatever. WELL- now that it''s getting nice outside he''s been talking a lot about the trip, reminding me to get a passport, etc. Normally when I plan a trip for us, he doesn''t mention much until the week before we leave, so I''m really optimistic!! I will still have a glorious time even if he doesn''t, but here''s to hoping! We plan on going up the weekend of June 12th! |
