i love those shoes!
I did see some post on pinterest about how to make the underside of your shoes glittery blue for "something blue". I was going to keep it in mind for whenever that planning came up.

No, the Etsy listing is not for the shoes, it is for the stickers that spell "I Do" with the ring as the "O"......You can put them on any shoe and they have several different scripts, etc. They even have a set for the groom "Me Too" - SO would never wear that!

Ladies, I missed this when I looked at the website for my choice venue, they actually have an Elopement Package. However, it says 2011 and not 2012 and it says 2 people. I see no reason why you can't pay more for 4, right?

I've sent an email but the coordinator is out until Monday...hopefully I will have some good news to report next week!

Can't wait to hear what they say! I think 2 extras is PROBABLY okay. I think the idea is to keep people from purchasing the elopement package and then inviting 20 people to watch.

I am still waiting for info about the Inn. The lady emailed me back and said she is busy with a huge wedding event taking place this entire weekend (evidently for certain size ceremonies you must guarantee the entire inn is booked...) but will get back to me today or tomorrow.

In the MEANTIME.......I have found my inspiration photo!!! :appl: :appl: I LOVE this dress (and I don't like strapless anything) but I know it will be A.) possibly not avail as it was from 2011 but B.) definitely more than I want to spend, especially on such a small wedding. I have also been scouting and found some others that have some type of either cap sleeve, etc, but I definitely love the look. I think I can find something similar......And I LOVE the blue shoes. I even love the hair do!

So, I found what I am pretty sure is THE shoe featured in the blog (for some reason credit is not listed although it is for everything else)

and I also found this one, it is fancier, but also more expensive...

Click on this blog, you can then see the dress much better. It is a Romona Keveza dress. From what I have seen on line of other dresses by her, it is probably around $2100 at least. I think it is a true white, but I would probably prefer something ivory. I don't think I want this exact dress but something that gives this vibe.

I do like the lace, I like the shape as well. I would like something that flares out but nothing that is hugely poufy. I want it to be at the knee, just below the knee or possibly tea length, but nothing that cuts across my calves and visually widens them. I prefer not strapless, it could be thin straps, or something possibly wider straps, or even something that has a lace cap sleeve or elbow length sleeve. If I go with October, it will hopefully still be warm but I think I could wear any of the sleeve styles and not look out of season.

I find I like a lot of the vintage looking styles. SO expressed preference for lace as well as short instead of a gown or long dress when I asked him what his dream look for me would be. So it doesn't HAVE to have lace, but it would be nice if it has a little on it. He said it didn't matter what I picked as long as I liked it, but I like the idea of knowing a little about what his vision is, plus I know he doesn't want to wear a suit. He brought up white linen and khaki pants, but I think that is more beach than this. I am sure he would wear a navy blazer, etc and tie if I wanted. So I like the idea of short as it will be a small wedding, during the day, outside, and, not to mention, I already did the super-expensive Vera Wang gown thing. So I am cool with it. I also liked that vintage dress in the SF Town Hall wedding I posted for Audball. Except I am not sure I would want short sleeves. It looks classic with a twist.

I just think the overall vibe seems like me. I like the hair do too, my hair could probably be done very similar (except I don't have bangs). I prefer high shoes and I think the blue would be a modern touch as well as make it a smidge less formal.

The dress you picked is cute, definitely not with black, but it looks too short I think and I would prefer a more delicate looking type of lace I think. Something that reads a little more elegant? (We went out for late dinner last night and sat at the bar next to bunch of "rowdy" dare-I-call-them-kids....all I could think was that I am now officially old enough to theoretically have parented someone old enough to drink! :Up_to_something:  :-o :-o Long story short, I know I look a little younger than my age and I'm not THAT conservative, but I want to look elegant and classy with my own twist without looking like I am dressed TOO young, if that makes any sense!!!!)

What do you think about the shoes? Doesn't the one pair look like the ones in the picture?

I like the shoes! I'm not sure they're the same though. The one you posted is a peep toe and has a skinnier heel. I could be wrong, but the one in the inspiration photos appears (to me) to have a closed toe and a heftier heel. They're both lovely though!

Yes, this is much more similar I think!!! :appl: Although, I am not sold on the strapless part itself. I have never been a fan of strapless anything on me. I think other people look great but maybe my chest is too small  I think it could be shortened a bit too, the one review mentions it cutting at an unflattering length. I REALLY like the price! And I like how they show it with blue shoes. I have never even set foot in a David's Bridal...I ought to go take a look.

And I meant, which blue shoes did you like best, Mico?

If you view the blog page, the are definitely peep toe. There are a few more pics I did not show. The shoes have a 5.25 inch :!: heel so maybe if you take the height into account in the different pics? I know, hard to say, but I have scoured the web looking at blue shoes....
and I haven't found anything else that looks close!

gah, i decided to go in to work to study and now i can't click on links. Dangit

After much deliberation I've decided i like the 2nd of the 2 shoes. Reasons:
- I like how the fabric wraps around the platform.
- I was unsure of the accents on the toe, but with your style dress, it would be a compliment I think - maybe an additional piece in your hair to balance would work.
- it seems to flow better, but i kinda like the shape of the top shoe better... it has a more round feel and the bottom one has a more pointy feel.

i need to get home and search blue peep toed shoes.

i'm mad i can't click the david's bridal link. edit, i found a way around it :Up_to_something:

not lace, but not a tube top: http://www.preownedweddingdresses.com/dresses/45265/Priscilla-of-Boston-Size-8.html
brand new - not pre-owned.

Sure!
I don't even have my own pinterest, but I was literally thinking of starting one so that I can keep these things straight. I do think the 2nd set of shoes are definitely more "special occ" than the first ones, but I am not sure if I would ever find a use for blue shoes again (kind of like my Vera Wang shoes I wore last time, still sitting in the box, I ought to sell them!), so I like the price of the 1st pair a bit better. Hmm, maybe I will just order them both and see how they look (and feel!!) in person. Zappos at least has the one pair and they have free returns so......

Here are some gowns I found on preownweddingdresses.com that you can check out. You can also have a full length dress altered to a shorter length if you find something you love. I got my 2 vintage dresses for under 100.00 each on ebay. It's risky but it paid off for myself. One I didn't even wear and now I"ll probably lend to a friend for her upcoming wedding after their formal engagement.

My vintage gown can be found on this thread

They have great dresses but are expensive. I found this one on ebay (the one I'm probably lending/selling) for much cheaper and it's in great shape-but the mark up was insane.

Another expensive one (2k) but pretty!

I'm also getting ready to part with my shoe collection :blackeye: I have a TON of shoes (really nice ones) but my lifestyle has changed and I just don't and know I won't wear them. I think the only pair I'm keeping is my laceswoon from Stuart Weizman that I got for the wedding. The Steven Maddens were DIY and aren't 100% a match but don't be afraid to add something to shoes if you want to spice them up!

Mico -

can you go to the David's Bridal website on your phone? There are not that many short ones. The one Aud picked is style PK3367. I also think 231M16700 is cute too, but looks maybe a little too casual. And it is strapless too.

also, how do we do the joint pinterest? are we allowed to talk about it here? :Up_to_something:

VintageLover - thanks for jumping in! Your dress looked very beautiful! I think that finding something vintage and beautiful can be an amazing way to go.....
I checked out your sites, I did see this one that looks pretty
http://www.unique-vintage.com/ivory-tulle-neck-length-vintage-style-wedding-dress-p-18868.html?osCsid=34f2b6a1fdf35a5a35e9610af2c51e36
Although there is no lace, but I can see myself in a style like that.

I don't think I want an aysmmetrical hem but the Alfred Angelo one on the preowned dresses was pretty!

Your embellished blue shoes looked pretty fancy! I am planning to get the I DO rhinestone stickers for the bottoms of the shoes, you can see it in one of the previous posts.....

More suggestions welcome!!

Man PS ate my reply.

The lace ones were super hard to find. I searched everywhere but the heel was either wrong, they were to plain, wrong shaped toe/etc. I was very upset that I couldn't find a classic lace shoes anywhere. Then the royal wedding happened and I saw her shoes and of course-just what I had envisioned. It just took a private team of shoe makers and a royal wedding to create them. THEN I found them on ebay for 130.00 and the right size and I took the risk and they were prefect. Consider the designer I thought I got a great deal-and I've tried to find them since with out any luck. I mentioned I might part with them on BWW in a searching for shoes thread and I got in trouble but I will say that they are a size 37 (every other shoe I own is 7-7.5 in heels) and I also am friends with Audiball outside of PS.

Here is the dress in the first post on that site for 800.00 (IMO way to expensive) but it doesn't photograph well and it could easily have something underneath it to add some "body" to the dress. I got married in the Dec otherwise I would have worn it. Now I'm pregnant (5 months on Sunday) with no use for it and now it doesn't fit lol. I'm considering putting all my shoes and that dress in the yard sale I was planning on having but I have a hard time parting with pretty things. I'd much rather let people use them and get them back or give them to someone who needs them than sell them for less than I feel they are worth. But as of right now everything is just collecting dust ;(

The reason I attached these photos of the first gown is bc the website makes it look not very attractive. When shopping for vintage gowns and they aren't IRL shots its pretty hard to get a good idea of actually how pretty the dress could be. So if the style is there-the price is right it doesn't do any harm in trying. I paid 100.00 for that dress shipped and I plan on parting with it for the same price or just letting my friend wear it if she wants to (she expressed interested and she's not engaged either lol). Until I can find a home for it though it will stay hidden in my closet and maybe someday I'll fit into it and can do a fun vow renewal or something. My lace shoes would look great with that dress too (another reason I got them).

ok, none are what you want i think, but some ideas with possibilities of alterations if close, their costs are nice and may make them worth it:

p.s. i came back after my frenzy and re-looked at them, i knocked a few out but figured i'd leave them up for you. I'm more of a clean architechtural lines type person, or i like uniqueness...

don't like the way the ribbon is, nor really the bottom, but for the price has potential:
edit, don't like it
http://www.ebay.com/itm/JESSICA-McCLINTOCK-Gunne-Sax-Ivory-Lace-Strapless-Wedding-Dress-NEW-9-10-/360428383811?pt=Wedding_Dresses&hash=item53eb34ae43

top/bottom are beautiful, i wonder if an alteration could make this what you want by bringing the bottom up and maybe wearing something under the newly done bottom:
I looked closer, don't like it as much
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ivory-New-Designer-Lace-Wedding-Dress-Formal-Budget-10-/270974742188?pt=Wedding_Dresses&hash=item3f175a6eac

can't tell the detailing, the original picture is beautiful, a possible:
ETA, looked again, don't like the actual, but like the original

i'm not a fan of rhinestones, the back, nor really the bottom, but the top is nicely done:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Ivory-Lace-Wedding-Gown-Dress-with-Sweetheart-Neck-/120848485603?pt=Wedding_Dresses&hash=item1c23218ce3

too long and too formal buuuuuuuut... sticking it in here

lace is too thick, but can be shortened, would be cute:

 i couldn't help it, i like the back

Are the SW ones the "I Do" shoes? That have the "I Do" on the bottom of the shoe? I saw them on line and they are very pretty! It doesn't look like you can find them unless on ebay...

The dress looks lovely, I think the back is pretty but the front is just not for me. Thanks anyway though!

ok, none are what you want i think, but some ideas with possibilities of alterations if close, their costs are nice and may make them worth it:

p.s. i came back after my frenzy and re-looked at them, i knocked a few out but figured i'd leave them up for you. I'm more of a clean architechtural lines type person, or i like uniqueness...

don't like the way the ribbon is, nor really the bottom, but for the price has potential:
edit, don't like it

top/bottom are beautiful, i wonder if an alteration could make this what you want by bringing the bottom up and maybe wearing something under the newly done bottom:
I looked closer, don't like it as much

can't tell the detailing, the original picture is beautiful, a possible:
ETA, looked again, don't like the actual, but like the original

i'm not a fan of rhinestones, the back, nor really the bottom, but the top is nicely done:

This has a pretty look, but I agree, rhinestones too much

too long and too formal buuuuuuuut... sticking it in here

Would look too hippy on me

lace is too thick, but can be shortened, would be cute:

THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE YOU PICKED! I love the back too.....but too much would be lost if I chop it off and I really want short.

i don't know your size, ?aleration, top is pretty:

waaaay too big

I WANNA PIN THINGS!!!!!!

Oops, sorry Mico, I must have responded about the shoes and missed your post! Then I went to your thread and was like, oops...so I came right back over to check these out.

To clarify a bit, I wear something in the size 2-4 range, maybe a 6 to cut in. Although I'd love a steal (like that dress I snagged at Marshalls and posted way back when but now don't think will work if we are not on the beach), I would be happy with something inexpensive, but I'd probably pay 500-700ish for something closer to perfect. I don't want to pass the 1k mark and 300ish would be perfect.

This one is pretty, I don't think the mannequin's shape helps the dress though

This one is straighter, I like the top though

THis is pretty but it is straight not flared, not sure if I want that.

ETA- bolded my responses to some of the dresses, they looked lost in the quote....also agree, I think we do have a bit of the same style going! ;)) :appl:
