madelise- Haha, I know it seems crazy. I've only survived because our plan was always to be getting engaged around this time, he's only had the ring so long because I found the one I wanted way earlier than we expected me to, and I convinced him that he needed to buy it then otherwise it would be gone forever! It's a vintage OEC ring from an antique jewelry store, so it's not like there are more of the same just laying around or that could easily be custom made, and I knew I would be SO disappointed if someone else bought it before he did, so he agreed to buy it then even though we both knew the engagement wouldn't be coming for awhile. And I couldn't very well go crazy around him about it since I'm the one who set the engagement timeline in the first place!!! Not gonna lie, I've had some LIW-freakout moments about it, but I've been able to keep them away from him. Thus far he's done everything that I ever could have wanted, and more, so I can be patient in return.

EEeeee!!! The wait must be so.hard. I totally get the scooping up the perfect vintage stone when you find it though! We certainly did. I'll have more than 6 months to wait too...at least I have a friend who will have been there, done that!

I remember you stated somewhere you went to Lang's, right? I'm begggggginnngggg SO to take me to Lang's You're so lucky your SO understands just how "rare" old stones are.. Mine thinks they're a dime a dozen! I can't wait for you to get engaged!! I want to see your vintage goodie now!

Phdecorate- Thank you! Our weather in Jan/Feb is seriously a toss-up, which makes planning even harder! Sometimes it'll be rainy, or like this past year, we had way sunny and warm days during those months. I've been looking at elopement packages in the Bahamas, the USVI, Belize, and Fiji as well, so those are some additional options for us. FF is totally on board with either!

peonia- Thanks, lady! I'm definitely just trying to enjoy this time and not go TOO crazy, but it's hard sometimes!

madelise- Haha, I don't think he actually "understands" the old stone thing, he just knows that I know what I'm talking about so if I say it's so, it's so. And he knows enough to realize that I know way more about these types of things than he does, so he just accepts what I say and goes along with it. Yeah, aren't the prongs amazing?! They're so swoppy and delicate IRL, photos do not capture their daintiness AT ALL. It's funny because after I saw it at Lang's but before BF went to buy it, I looked at it online and thought that it looked yuck in the Lang's website photos. Better for me, though, because that meant nobody decided they loved it and snapped it up before I could get back there with BF!

I just it! The center stone is much smaller than I was originally planning on getting and the whole thing cost less than half of the budget BF and I had originally discussed, so that goes to show you just how much I fell in love with it. Plus now I can justify keeping this one when I want an upgrade sometime down the line rather than having to trade it in since it was so (relatively) inexpensive! I'm sentinmental so would hate to have to do a trade-in to get an upgrade.

Thanks, pandabee! I'd never seen anything like it either, when I first put it on in the store it took my breath away. I was browsing with one of my IRL PSer friends (this was like the third weekend in a row we'd gone browsing at a gazillion different places) and she had brought her camera to take pictures of things I liked. After I put this one on she said "You know how I know this is the one for you?" I asked how, and she said "Because you keep having me take more and more pictures of it. With everything else you've tried on, you've been satisfied after only a few pictures."

that ring is absolutely GORGEOUS!!

SO is having surgery this Thursday, so we won't be able to drag him into public for another 3-4 weeks. Last weekend was our "last chance" to go in a long time!

Thanks petit_bijou!! I pretty much AM exploding, you just can't see me. And it's so hard because then I have to try and contain myself around SO because I don't want him to know I'm exploding, I'm just trying to play it cool. But inside? Hahaha, I'm a hot mess (in a good way)!
