Keep in mind if you use GOG for your diamond you can always upgrade later on down the road-they also have a ton of amazing settings AND estate pieces not listed on their site

I know this isn't nearly as big but I think it's BEAUTIFUL and very unique and very budget friendly. You could always pay back loans and save for a few years (5-10 yr anniversary) and switch this to a RHR and get an upgrade

I guess I should backtrack and say it's not so much the carat weight I envision, but the finger spread. THANK YOU SO MUCH for finding these!!! I think if we found an OEC or transitional we could definitely get the spread - I was just always concerned with the warmth... which I wanted to bring out with a low colored stone and rose gold ...later, when we were a bit more established.

Vintage, do you have any sites I can stalk for a little bit?

Also, PH AND AUD I <3 you! thanks for resurrecting my thread! I haven't heard back from IDJ yet - odd? I sent it as a question about the stone we liked and asked for yekutiel... it's said i'd hear back in 12 hours... every junk email that's hit my inbox via phone has caused palpitations. i keep staring at the idealscope, and he didn't send me pictures

it DOOOOOES kinda look dark though, like in the shallow pics on the reference chart . But maybe it's beautiful in person, who knows.

As a side note my parents have offered to go to NYC to look at the stones in person for me (5 hour bus ride, i love them). I might ask him about 2 other stones, have them tell me their thoughts - and if all goes well we'll be finalizing tomorrow. In all honesty, my mom's opinion is the most influential for me - weird huh? Unfortunately IDJ closes at 2pm tomorrow... and I can't talk to him about it unless they're already on their way. We'll see if they can even go.

I wish IDJ was open on weekends, i'd go sat if they were.

Fingers crossed that some eyes you trust can take a look in person, and that you end up with your dream stone! It's always hard to get as excited about something new after you've lost one that you just felt was *perfect* (aka the estate piece). I felt that way when I had to admit that James Meyer couldn't make my ring, but it's great that you're taking the plunge to talk to more vendors

YAY for Progress! Yekutiel is well respected here on PS. I'd trust his opinion. But in order for him to give you an opinion, you have to be honest about what you're looking for.

I told him he's have to talk to the boy for the strict pricing guidelines (and gave him his email) but I was told 15K for EVERYTHING unless he found us something we just couldn't pass up and then he's have to talk to FF. I'm still waiting on pictures. I'm still hopeful - but may ask him to call in one more stone for us to compare to prior to making our decision.

I'm much happier now that I am talking to someone I'm comfortable with - but I'm unsure I would have been this trusting earlier on. I'm probably the easiest nitpicky customer he's going to have.

Sorry for the delay, I'm just a little lagged - was at work till past midnight last night. the 2 big contenders are a H 1.8 and an I 1.98. One would be 500 under budget, the other 500 over. My family might go to NYC on monday to look at them and I might just ask IDJ to find a nice G to throw in the mix so they can tell me their honest opinion on which they like - and have someone just look at them in person .

I also talked to him about the vatche u113 with the widely discussed 90/10 platinum mix which is said prevents scratching, but he said wasn't worth it... which is fine. After thinking about it - looking for a wedding band and matching colors may prove to be difficult if I did that.

I'll post a thread in RT with the photos soon .

Yay!! Oh its def sizable to half a size, if you wanted it bigger!! It'd be awesome if it can fit your stone!! And it's in "like new" condition, too!! I saw it and I was like OOH OOH gotta look for nice sticks :p
