Nobel 2000. Sorry but I absolutely detest that Cycloptic aquamarine bandeau/tiara/thing.
Yeah - I don''t like it either. I wish she had a full aquamarine tiara - that would look gorgeous on her.

The pictures of the queen mum from the 1920s are great! In the book on The Royal Crown jewels by Leslie Field she shows the queens 1920s Cartier lines bracelets in diamonds and colored gems...anyone have pics they could post of these...these line bracelets havent changed much over the years and are still being carried in jewelry stores today...just goes to show that what goes around comes around again.

The bracelets could also be mounted in bandeau fittings to be worn on the head.

Queen Margrethe at the opening of film festival on her visit to Mexico this month. Crazy huge gold brooch. Def. in line with my idea of using jewelry to "spot the Queen" - and it has a faintly Mexican look to it as well.

Thanks for the close up of the Royal Order...it WAS me that's interested in them!

It's interesting to look at the first photo of Silvia wearing that emerald necklace. If you look at the center medallion, and go up to the 3rd side emerald, it looks wonky and very light, like its a dud. Then when you look at the photo of just the necklace, you can see the same emerald is indeed much lighter looking. Weird but interesting.

ETA: I love the fire coming off of Serena's wedding tiara...some great red/orange fire bursts coming off those luscious old stones. Yum!

You can see the matching bracelet in this photo. This is the first time Silvia has worn this set.

Queen Elizabeth toured a grocery store wearing one of Queen Victoria''s Bow Brooches. (Can you imagine a life where a tour of a grocery store is a novelty??!!) The Queen Victoria Bow Brooches were made made Garrard in 1858 as a set of three. Both Queen Mary and Queen Alexandra wore the brooches at their coronations. The Queen owns several bow brooches but you can always recognise the Queen Victoria Bow Brooches by the distinctive double bow effect.

An older photo of the Queen wearing one of the Queen Victoria Bow Brooches. She seems to wear them for more casual occasions quite alot.

Here - it''s a bit hard to make out amongst all the "stuff" - Queen Mary wears the Queen Victoria Bow Brooches in 1902 at her coronation. The brooches are suspended on a diamond chain going down the front of her skirt.

I really do not like the emeralds with that red dress on Queen Silvia at all. Looks like a Christmas decoration!

I think the bow brooches are lovely on Queen Elizabeth, though!
