I think watches would be one of the things they are most known for.
**************************** "There is no such thing as fun for the whole family-there are no massage parlors with ice cream and free jewelry" Jerry Seinfeld
They''re well known for the elaborate things they made in the 1920''s. The things they made then are much more fascinating than the things they make today.
"I never met a diamond I didn't like." No jewel is as beautiful as a cat's eyes. Madam Bijoux (Gabrielle)
They obtained a great deal of fame for the pieces they commissioned for the Duchess of Windsor (Wallace Simpson), in particular the famous panther (big cat) pieces for her.
Ahh the Duke and Dutchess of Windsor are one of my favorite couples in UK history. He abdicated his place as heir so he could marry her, an American divorcee...maybe there''s hope for me and Wills after all....

I always think of Art Deco when I think of Cartier. They did make the most extraordinary deco stuff, all sorts of jewery as well as clocks and watches.
For contemporary things I think their watches are very iconic.
