I have a charm bracelet that is at least 30 years old and was wondering if anyone knows whether it is "coin silver" or platinum. Every charm is stamped with the number 900. There are no other identifying marks...thank you.

without seeing the stamp mark itself, im going to figure that its a lower grade silver.platinum would be spelled out or abriviated and the type of alloy used with it...example plat.10%irid....900 grade silver can be found in places like scandinavian countrys(sweden, denmark)can you post the hall marks.

There are no other markings on the bracelet...there is one charm missing however and maybe that is where the hallmark was. The clasp is not current and is in the shape of a curvy "U"

Silver is a great deal lighter than platinum. You might be able to tell by the heft. Can you find a similar size silver piece and compare the weight?

Also, silver tarnishes (unless it''s rhodium plated) and platinum doesn''t.

If you post pictures, that might help.
