Worst movie ever! (there may be horrible movie spoilers w/i)

We rented Splice last night on On Demand, and I can officially confirm that Splice is the worst movie I've ever seen. Not craptastic bad, but horrible.

But, I always like to be proven wrong. What do you think is the worst movie ever?

For me it is a movie called "88 Minutes" HORRIBLE! Folled in a very far second place by "Prince of Persia" Lame-0!

I recently watched Wall STreet Money never sleeps. UGH! SO BAD. Every "plot twist" was painfully obvious, and they finally get back together just because her dad (whom she "hates") says, "You should be together." Oh PUH_LEASE!

Oh, gosh- probably 'Lady in the Water' (M. Night Shyamalan). So bad. My husband and I almost walked out a few times (something we never do) but stayed because we thought it HAD to get better. It didn't.

That grossed me out so much!! And when she was pulling his pants down with her claw feet?!? Seriously!? Who writes this stuff? And Adiran Brody, really!? The whole thing was just too much.

I couldn't get through Lady in the Water. I guess at least Splice kept me going until the end (if only to make fun of it more)

What was that other M. Night Shymalan movie, "The Village" or something like that? AWFUL. Dumb! Predictable! Not scary! Ditto the remake of that Japanese movie with Sarah Michelle Geller, can't remember the name of that either, but it had no plot I could discern & went on & on forever. "Sixth Sense" was so fabulous, one of my all-time favorites but the rest of his films have been dreck, too bad.

Thirty Days of Night

Hands down the worst movie I've ever seen. It's about a town in Alaska that has 30 days without sunlight in the winter. Vampires swoop in to devour the remaining now isolated residents. It was such gratuitous violence with the vampires gnawing on the victims and spraying blood everywhere. We walked out of the theater. I've never done a walkout, but this was just horrible in every way possible.

Do you think Sixth Sense would've been as good without the twist ending? This is an ongoing debate between me and my friends.

I sorta liked The Village, but mostly because I want to live somewhere like that.

Ohhh Gawd I agree w/30 Days of Night!! JD and I were so looking forward to it and then..blah. That screeching they did-duh. Cabin Fever is another one we didn't like, Brotherhood of the Wolf and Dog Soldiers. I didn't mind The Village. I know there's been a couple we didn't even finish but I can't recall the names.

Hostel - Same thing. I would be outta there as soon as he turned the movie on. Why hang around to see if they will kill you too?

Knowing - (nick cage). It was the ALIENS! of course! Classic "and then I woke up" ending.

Perfect storm - They all die.

Waterworld - Never sat through it so still don't know what it is all about.

Cheaper by the dozen - (the remakes 1&2). Not even nearly related to the origional, just awful.

Marley & ME - This is not a cute film - I cried through most of it; but my cat was about to be put down and we were TTC.

Back to the Future- Nope never got this one, two or three.

Bill & Ted's excellent adventure- was bad too...

Groundhog day - I love Bill Murray from the classic Ghost busters but I hate hate hate this move.

Barb wire - this was such a bust (Get it , harf harf harf )

Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. OMG. Horrible. Beyond horrible. And I watched it because my generally classy husband, just thinks it's hilarious. Marriage is so dicey, isn't it?

Gigli. Never seen the whole thing: it could be lethal, and I actually like life. But I have seen the 5 minute obscene stretching scene where Jennifer Lopez recites a graphic sililoquy to her...lady parts. I'm surprised she could DO it, and then be seen in public ever again.

The original Dune movie from 1984. Hubs and I went to the theatre to see it, and ended up walking out. All-star, stellar cast, stinker adaptation. Truly. That's the only movie I've actually seen in a threatre, that was so bad I was driven out.

Shortly after the Manson clan wreaked their horror in Los Angels a movie came out called "Sweet Savior" starring Troy Donohue which was a thinly disgused story of Manson and his clan. My x husband who fancied himself a film expert dragged me to see it. It was the worst, most revolting film I have EVER seen. Grephic in the extreme . Fortunately it is out of print and NOT available on NetFlix. I am 58 years and and believe me seen my share of bad movies and THAT movie, my friends in my opion, was pure porno.

I wouldn't call Marley & Me "cute" -- it was a good story but VERY VERY sad. FI and I were both in tears by the end (didn't help that we'd lost our 19 year old kitty a few months earlier) and FI is still worried every time our dog has gas or eats too fast.


We recently saw the first half of "The Road" --- FI shut it off because he just couldn't stomach seeing the last half (we looked at the chapter selection menu and it didn't seem to be getting any better). It had... everything: sad kid to feel sorry for, end of the world scenario, suicide (including families killing each other to escape the misery), dead bodies everywhere, canibalism (in gruesome detail), killing & eating pets...

Waterworld-we're fans. We own it and have watched it so many times! I think we're the only people on the planet who love it!

The Road-OMG seriously, JD and I kept watching *hoping* it would get better or more..hopeful about the world..When it was over we just stared at the screen and then I burst into tears. It was so horribly depressing I couldn't handle it. Even that little glimmer of "hope" (kinda, I guess you could call it) at the end just..wow, I was in a bad mood after watching that.

My husband loves Harold & Kumar, as well. In fact, he's rented it a few times *and* we're about to watch it again as it just came via Netflix.

One I think was just terrible was "Faceoff" w/Nicolas Cage and John Travola. . .where they both get plastic surgery to look like each other. lol

Any of the Twilight movies. Sooooo bad. Horrible acting, laughable dialog. I like the "feel" of the films - cinematography, etc. but man, the characters are as shallow as you can get. I am baffled at how anyone over the age of 12 would be crazed over these films.

One of the worst movies I've seen is "Little Children." It's so disturbing, especially one part, and it took me a few days to get over.

Another one that is actually pretty funny but it's SO off the wall is "Dinner for Schmucks." I went with my mom and we were looking at each other during certain scenes, shaking our heads, and wondering who came up with THAT plot.
