Why does my emerald look small compared to round?

Hi

I have a 1.53 F Color, emerald cut, I feel that compared to a round of equal or lesser size it looks smaller?

Why is this? Is this simply because of the difference in shape? I don''t know why it bothers me but it does.

Is your stone cut very deeply? This may take away from the spread. It could also just be your perception. Emerald cuts always look big to me.
