I struggled with the same thing. Originally, I wanted 5 .25ct princess cut stones to go with my 3.22 ct princess stone. But, the size of the diamonds seemed to detract from my e-ring too much. So, I decided to go for a w-ring with 7 20-pointers instead. It's amazing how much of a difference such a small drop in size makes! I just wanted to make sure the diamonds would make it across the entire top of my finger without taking away from my e-ring. For your size stone, I think the advice to go with the .10-.15ct stones is a good one (rounds are bigger than princess, so you really don't want to go too big if you plan to wear the rings together). You might want to figure out how much space the stones will take up though--I think it's funny looking when women have bands that do not span the width of their finger.

Hey, thanks for the plug, Val!!!
![]() I am going through this right now--please heed the warnings! I just received a 1.5 ct stone set with 3 20 pointers on each side...I have a host of wedding bands, including the following that would seem to match my new ering: -a 7-stone with .15 pointers -a 6 stone with 30 pointers -a princess eternity with 30 pointers -a 4 stone with 60 pointers (that's in the original thread Val linked to above) Bottom line? I think I need a band, probably eternity, with 20 pointers or smaller--because the others detract from the center stone in the ering. There are a lot of factors at work here--finger size (mine is hideous 7.5 but I always had snausage fingers), main stone size (1.5 ct), and personal preference... But you can judge for yourself...I'd go with something that does not detract from the center stone...Thank GOD I cn wear all of these on my right hand. I am seriosuly considering asking my jeweler to trade in the 6 stone and put the value towards an eternity band with 20 pointers...I hope he'll do it because I can't do the eternity band outright right now, and Lord knows I have no patience WHATSOEVER! Good luck to you--this is maddening!

Great pics Jennifer! I think I kinda agree on the 20 points each. That four stone ring is huge! Off topic, but what do you think of alternating baguettes on side with rounds for a band .... gotta keep thinking of the next project ![]() Treysar, I think it depends on how you want to feature the other ring, but my personal view is for 20 points or less. |

First, my apologies to treysar for accidentally hijacking the thread
--I honestly meant to be helpful by showing my own scenarios for perspective. This issue is now driving ME nuts! ![]() Second, many thanks to those who have posted opinions...you'd think I'd have something better to do than obsess about this but it's been bugging me and your thoughts are most welcome. I'm still thinking what to do. ![]() Noobie, I just an hour ago had a bain flash over the rounds baguettes thing.... Now I am more confused. I will go see him on Wed. and talk it over... treysar, I think in the end, you want a band that will complement your great stone not overwhelm it... When i only wore larger bands this was not an issue. Now I have a nice ering to compete with and it's an issue.
