I also loooove reading Vogue, W, and Dwell, but I can''t keep up with it all, so I don''t subscribe, just read ''em in the gym when they''re lying around.

National Geographic

Sometimes I buy Delicious, which is a cooking magazine, but they also have a lot of recipes on line so often I just look there.

I find that with beauty mags I just end up consuming more items that I don''t want or need.

Our home receives:

Vanity Fair
Sports Illustrated
Golf for Women
Golf Magazine
Real Simple
Us Weekly
My alma mater''s alumni magazine :)
And I know it''s not a mag, but we subscribe to the local newspaper (I''m only mentioning it because in our age demographic, newspaper subscriptions are on the sharp decline...and uh, it looks like we read a lot of fluff, too
2.gif
).
...

Next year, I''m definitely cutting out Golf for Women and Real Simple - maybe in favor of something like Bon Appetit or Food and Wine.

I know this is kindof thread-jacky- but has anyone received a copy of The Nest Magazine? We got a freebie and it seriously made me sick.

In Style
Inside Weddings
Brides, Modern Bride and Elegant Bride (all 3 for 23 bucks!)
Martha Stewart Weddings

That''s it. And it''s only because my parents gave me their subscription. Sometimes I steal my mom''s subscriptions of Better Homes and Gardens, Southern Living and Cooking Light when I see recipes I like.

If I could afford it though, I''d subscribe to Cook''s Illustrated and Chocolatier.

The only mag I have is Allure, which is geared toward women in their 20s and I'm 35. Way too old to be reading it, but I got a year of it for only $6, which one cannot beat!

ETA - I also get "The Nation," but I'm not sure if that qualifies as a magazine since it's a magazine with newsprint rather than glossy pages???

I have a thing for design magazines. Nate says that I need to get an interior design degree. SOme of these I get because it''s like a 2 for one deal. Like GQ and Details are like 20 bucks a year and then Home and Metropolitan Home are like maybe 20 because they have the same publisher. And I''m a sucker for magazine sales from the kids. I can''t help it. :)

Architectural Digest
HOME
Metropolitan Home (dropping this one)
GQ
Details
Esquire
Black Enterprise (Gift from my mom, but I really love it.)
Traditional Home
Southern Accents
Interior Design
Parents
Forbes
Money
Domino
House Beautiful (I really look forward to that one.)
Martha Stewart Weddings (I know y''all are thinking why.)
Men''s Health (Mostly for Nate.)
Golf Digest (Nate.)
Education Week
American Journal of Pediatrics (Nate.)
Black Issues in Higher Education
Conde Nast Traveler
Time

Nate gets medical stuff, but the only one I know for sure of is the pediatric one and I know because I read it. Not that I understand a lot of it, but I try.

I place a lot of value on reading. I''ve always felt like it''s such a privilege to be able to do so. I can''t stress it enough. Like, interior design is my hobby, but education is just a passion. Reading is kind of intermingled with that, for me.

Lucky and Glamour

This Old House
Arthritis Today

That was a lot more than I realized. The boys had a school fundraiser earlier this year

I only keep the National Geo and Arthritis Today mags and the rest get dropped of at the hospital when I am done reading them. I just leave them in waiting areas for others to enjoy.

Wow, Penn, you should set up a little coffee shop in your home to share the magazine wealth! Neighbors can come over, have some java, read some mags.

I also get a bunch of literacy magazines for educators, but I don''t subscribe to any of them. They started coming when I earned my reading specialist certificate and they never stopped.

What is Dwell? I think the family we bought our home from had those magazine everywhere. I''m going to grab a copy today to see what this most popular glossy is all about.

Dwell is a interior design magazine. I never really liked it enough to subscribe.

I would like to weed out some of them, but I''ll just end up buying them when I go to the bookstore, so it''s like pointless.
