My name badge says 'Wildlife Care Assistant'. I volunteer one afternoon a week at a wildlife rescue center, the rest of the time I'm a stay at home housewife (no kids, married in my 40s).

In fact, today is my work day and I'm off out in ten minutes. One of our current patients is a mountain beaver with mange, bless him. We also get to see snowy owls, various seabirds, seals and the occasional bear.

I love my job, and would do it for no pay. Oh, hang on, that IS what I do

Wow! What an awesome job! You lucky duck.

It''s a 4 years program, and after you graduate, you need to pass the board exam to be licensed to practice. There''s schools that offer 6 years ungrad/pharmD program where the first two years are G.E. and the last four years are pharm school. One of DH''s cousins is in the 6 years program and is starting the pharm part next year.

DH''s friend is a legal secretary for State Comp, and he gets teased by his friends about being a "secretary", along with all the coffee and dry cleaning jokes. It''s bad, but kind of funny.

Executive Assistant to President and both VPs

I once drove his nice car 30 miles one way to pick up one of the VPs new prescription eyeglasses.
I drove a rental car to Indianapolis airport, turned it in, caught the shuttle to private parking, and drove his car back home.
Our company owns a house instead of using hotels all the time. I once let someone in it on Xmas Eve because the VP asked me.

I do some pretty lame things but they always make it up to me with perks.

I'm a graduate student at UC Berkeley/UCSF. Not a 'real' job, but hey... I DO get paid by fellowship!

Although I wish I had looked into pharm school when I graduated.. yeah the job is boring if you work at walgreens or what not, but the schedule is more flexible, which is nice for families. but one of my pharm friends does research at a hospital, pretty interesting stuff! So you don't have to work for Kaiser or walgreens!

ETA: My 'official' title is "phD candidate", or 'Graduate Student Researcher IV' on my payroll...

I am socializing two homo sapiens in the dominant values of the Judeo-Christian tradition in order that they might be instruments for the transformation of the social order into the teleologically prescribed utopia inherent in the eschaton.

I think now (at least in ma), you have to have a pharmD to be a pharmacist, which is 5 years, or 6 if you go to Northeastern because they do internship rotations...

My ex was a pharmacist and I was a pharmacy technician in college and I''d so much rather be the tech--pharmacists have a lot of pressure on them and no one appreciates the amount of knowledge that they have. Plus thier job can be boring and can be stressful.

I'm a data analyst, which means that I sit at my cube all day with minimal person to person interaction and analyze information sent to me. I work in the biological sciences (BS and MS in microbiology with a genomics/molecular biology/minimal computer science concentration) and the job pays ok, but Im going to be ready for a change as soon as I hit the 2 year mark. I worry that my job is making me antisocial haha. I want to have worked in my 1st job for 2 years before looking for a new job.

I''m an Aloha Project Manager. :)

Bet that means a lot to everyone.. Basically I install Point of Sale Systems (Aloha Software) in Restaurants.. Project Manager basically just means I take on each project individually. I don''t actually manage people..

Yeah at the end of both programs (4 or 6 years), you get a PharmD. With the 6 years program, you get both the BS and PharmD. With the 4 years program, you have to already have a BS. My friend who is currently in USC Pharm school says that they are required to do both internship rotations and externships during the 4 years. It might be different in other states. I am only talking in regard to CA.

Storm, sorry to hear that. Good luck in your job search.

Websailor is a Senior (UNIX) Network Specialist.

I am a Vice President in the IT Department at a Fortune 50 Company (but hate my job, wish I could work
in the jewelry biz instead). Back in the old days, used to develop software, now I just manage projects.
