I''ll just copy my last post in the 2005 one:
My goal last year was to reset my engagement diamond in a better setting that would match my wedding band. As it turned out, I found a vintage engagement ring, which matched better than anything else I could find, and since it came with a diamond, all the better! Now I can reset my engagement diamond into a white setting, not really worrying about matching it to any wedding band, let-alone my hard-to-match (and yellow gold not being my favorite) wedding band. So, this year''s goal is to find a beautiful, white, perfect setting for my engagment diamond. Hopefully you Pricescopers can help me with this!!! ![]() |

Oh, I think I''ve given up on diamonds. My husband is as anti-jewelry as ever!
Maybe a diamond studded remote control? lolI''d love a larger set of diamonds studs (maybe .80-.90 TCW) and a RHR, but chances are slim. We have other financial obligations like paying off a property we purchased and also buying loads of clothes that my husband won''t disaprove of as much as he does of diamonds. |

Great thread!
Well... I don't think I have any (realistic!) diamond/jewelry goals for this year! ![]() Last year was a VERY EXPENSIVE (jewelry) year, and goshdarnitanyway, REAL LIFE has other places for us to spend our money this year! *horrors!* ![]() Oh well. I will have to live vicariously through you this year, girlfriend!!! ![]() Lynn PS Now if that PERFECT HONKIN' J/SI2 3+ carat w/ flouro dropped out of Belgium... I guess I would probably have to refinance my house... but how could I SAY NO TO THAT????!!!!! ![]() ...and OK, as long as I'm dreaming... maybe a small COL pendant, too, oh please sir????!

My diamond goal this year is to get a RHR that''s an oval with half moon sides. I can''t afford a huge ring, so it will probably be a half-carat center with sides less than .25 carats each. My husband was very nice to me with the jewelry in 2005, so I don''t need to get earrings, a necklace, or a bracelet.

My list:
1. Upgraded diamond studs 2 to 2.5 carat I/J SI ideals are my goal. My current ones are 1 carat tw non-ideals. 2. A diamond tennis necklace. I saw one (13 carat tw G/VS) by A Link in Neiman Marcus set in platinum but it''s $24,000. I''m not sure I can pull the trigger on something that expensive. 3. Or a Ritani Endless Love type pendant. 4. More Elizabeth Locke. I know this is alot. But I am taking the long view, if it doesn''t happen this year, hopefully it will be the next. |

This year I told my DH he owes me bigtime for all the boy trips he goes on without me (Vegas, Canada, etc.) so he has to start evening out the score with jewelry for me! He''s going to Vegas for March Madness (basketball tournament), so for Valentine''s Day he gets to buy me a Tag Heuer watch. I think it''s a great compromise, don''t you?
As far as goals for the rest of the year, I am resetting my e-ring, going from a plain 2mm platinum setting to a 3mm with invisible set princess sides to match my wedding band. Maybe some diamond studs for Christmas, and that''s about the extent of my jewelry goals for ''06. I turn the big 3-0 in 2007, so my goal for that year will be a RHR...I want a 2ct emerald with princess diamonds on the sides. i''ve already started the "hunt," and made DH well aware of it, just so he has plenty of time to save! Hee hee! |

HAHA! We are constantly thinking/planning for new bling, aren't we?
![]() For me, I am searching for a new setting. Sadly, I am no longer completely content with my current one. Turns out, I am fickle after all. But my dear husband is giving me the go ahead. I have a few ideas in mind, maybe this one: http://www.robbinsbros.com/productsearch/productDetail.asp?prod_id=28381&pType=ring&intIsJewelry=0&set_shape=1012 . I'm not sure since I've heard so many Tacori horror stories and I have yet to see this setting in person. Also, I want to have a diamond solitaire pendant made to give to my dear sis in time for her bridal shower in August. I am thinking of doing a half carat, bezel set, in platinum, with a bead chain like the one Moremoremore has. That'll be sooo fabulous. ![]() Let's hope all our 2006 diamond/jewelry goals will be achieved! |

Oh shoot, I actually don''t have a diamond goal.
I have a bag goal, what the hell is wrong with me? Ever since I got into this whole bag thing, I am only obsessed with bags. Anyway, these are my diamond/jewelry/ bag goals- LV damier canvas 25 or 30 speedy BE & D chocolate bag white gold hoop earrings Roberto Coin tiny treasures key pendant Butterfly ring ( I think I may have to have this custom made as I can''t find one I actually like)

That Tacori is beautiful. By the way, will you be my sister?

I have been lucky to get a great diamond pendant this year. But, yes, I do want more diamond upgrades in 2006! And since I''m getting married, it just might happen! #1 at least.
Here''s mine: 1) Diamond earring upgrade to a .5-1 ctw, H-J color, SI2-I1 clarity, and ideal - excellent cut. Haven''t decided on the size yet. 2) Diamond ering upgrade - maybe I''ll get a upgrade from my honey. Happy New Year everyone! |

In July we settled for a 1.6ct diamond for my engagement ring from WF, despite wanting somewhere nearer 2ct, but no suitable inventory
. So, with their good upgrade policy, we''ll be looking to upgrade to 2ct or slightly more in 2006. If nothing comes up, then the upgrade will wait until 2007, when hopefully we can make a personal visit to Whiteflash. Definitely want a pair of 1.5ctw ES martini set diamonds. |

Well my husband bought me a new ering (1.15ct Leo diamond, plain platinum setting) which i absolutely love. The only other jewellery I have is four 22ct Indian gold bangles (my husband is Indian). I never actually get to wear them, because my two daughters have laid claim to them!
I don''t have any other jewellery, but I treasure what I have. So for 2006 I am going to be content with my lot! But hey...It doesn''t stop me looking at what you guys are buying! And that''s all I''ll be doing....just looking....honestly!! Blod

This goal may extend out to 2010 and beyond, but...
.25 and .75 tcw martini studs 0.75ct 3-prong plat pendant A wedding band upgrade, either a SP shared prong half eternity or a SP shared prong diamond and sapphire eternity band A wg or plat double pearl drop pendant to match my great-grandmother's pearl earrings Leverback earring settings for my amethyst pear pair, maybe with a diamond halo! |

Hi Mara, When you said an upgrade to 2c+ my brain went into orbit. I know you have a J color now...What kind of spec would you be looking for? I hope you will share the selection process with us ? Bloody hell.....I think I might need to get out more ....LOL Blod ![]() |

Well I would have said (goals/desires same thing)
pair of imperial topaz, or champage diamond earrings, lever back style round or cushion tsavorite to make into pendant .33-.40 aca or expert selection round diamond in semibezel pendant (and this is the whittled down list!) BUT... My husband and I read "Your Money or Your Life" by Dominguez and Robin over holiday break, and it was very eye-opening. It''s a money book, but much more. I highly recommend it. Though we will still be getting him an electric guitar this year since that was decided earlier we are going to see how we do with being more fiscally disciplined, no frivolous/nonessential purchases. It is possible I will be going into withdrawal, but I''m hoping once I get past that it will get us more in the mindset I was in grad school, where we had no money, but were highly involved with projects, had a ball, and truly appreciated the few times we would go out to eat, etc, vs how I feel I''ve gotten to of shopping/eating out as a habit. I''m curious to see how it goes! I''m posting this here in hopes it will keep me honest! |

I have four goals, which are pretty simple:
1. Set my new OEC stone into a trellis setting (most likely will have Quest do this, if I don''t just outright buy Vatche''s X-Prong). This goal should be accomplished in the next month. 2. Save, save, save for my dream asscher RHR. 3. Don''t be tempted by all the pretty baubles- no miscellaneous purchases, unless made by hubby for me. 4. Repeat Goals 2 and 3! |

I love seeing everyone''s goals of new baubles (or goals to NOT buy new baubles!!
)....keep em coming! Kayla...FK did talk to me about her earrings, but I think that I may need a smaller pair also in terms of wideness, maybe .50ctw or .75ctw as I want them for daily wear as well and don''t want them to be too large....so we''ll have to see what happens. Hope she gets lucky on eBay!! |
