The Pricescope Pin

Hey! I noticed the new Pricescope pin. It look really great! So, is this one pin that you had made to commemorate all two dozen diamonds in the web, or did you make a pin for every single person? It''s a great idea! How do we nominate people?

Oh, nevermind, I found what you were talking about. That is a very nice idea. One thing that confused me though was that the people listed on the side were said to be in "registration order," but I know there are a lot of people registered earlier than some of the people on the list, but are not considered to be the first two dozen. Why is that? Just curious.

Leonid had the pins made up for each member in that list. The center stone is a .05c H&A.

On the Diamonds in the Web page, Leonid noted how the members became DITW. For display purposes, he sorted the list by registration date order.

I think it has more to do with how much help one has extended to people on this board, more than how long you've been posting. There are some people who may not have been here very long, but have given a lot of really good advice to people in need. There are others who have been here a long time, but are more "casual posters".


I just think it's a really special way to acknowledge the contribution some people have made to this board. Leonid is right, the quality of this board really depends on the dedication of a core group of posters. Congrats guys!

I had mine turned into a beautiful little pendant. I'm terrible w/pins, forget which article of clothing I pinned it to, and end up washing it.

I'll post pics of it real soon now. (I finally got the skiing pics' downloaded (see the winyan bio) and can now use the digi cam for other good stuff!!)

Actually I didn't do it, Mara, although I am capable of it, my house isn't set up to be creative, I do have a jeweler's bench and flexible shaft machine, and pickle and all the stuff I need, including the rouges and solders, but I can't vent properly, I'd have gold and silver shavings in my carpet, etc. So I took it across the street to my AI friend Thom, and he just clipped the bar off the pin and curved part of it down to form a bail. I had picked up a cool wg chain, with yg ball accents a long time ago from him, so I hung it from that.

I think it's gorgeous!
