After four or five long years, Brad DeGroot (from the Luann comic strip) and his girlfriend Toni Dakota are finally engaged. The twist is... she proposed to him, and they couldn't agree on a ring so she's wearing a family heirloom - a fire opal that belonged to her grandmother. Today's strip suggests that not everyone is totally at peace with the situation.
