No idea, but wait -- how are you on Pricescope on a plane?

No clue who it could be...but MsC, a lot of planes have wireless now.  As long as they''re high enough up in the air, she can be using the plane''s WiFi.

True, I forgot. Have been out of the U.S. for a while now and the flights I take over here don''t have it yet. But still, I would think "holding pattern" means "approach landing" means tuck your computers away. I guess not in this case.

Actually, President Obama will be in NYC today so, I have a funny feeling that he''s your VIP.

how annoying for you April! VIP or not, I would be frustrated - no way would I give up my landing time for our Prime Minister! :)

Apparently, LGA is shut down for the moment because a 'VIP' is flying in. I really want to know who you have to be, other than the president or similar, to shut down an entire airport. And don't most VIPs fly into smaller air fields?

Does anybody have a guess as to who could cause a shut down?

Obama is in NYC today. Probably means whole airspace is on high alert.

For NY'ers it's just another day of inconvenience. Although Wall St is def not sending out the welcome wagon.

I think it was Obama.  I''m assuming it had to be him or someone of equal calibar or they wouldn''t have shut down LGA.  Honestly, it really wasn''t that much of a pain.  We were going to land 10 mins early and landed maybe 10 late.  They put us in the holding pattern while we were still a ways out and hadn''t started approach, so the WiFi was still working. :) 

On a side note, I LOVE WiFi on planes.  I get a little work done, get a little PS time....

Of course no one other than the president or other high security risk political figure could shut down an airport. The FAA would never allow a celebrity or random rich person to do that
