Just my thoughts, that by painting nails attracts more attention to the hands, so the ring stands out more, but I guess it depends on your viewpoint. Nicely manicured nails look so much better with a pretty ring, the 2 go together! Just go with what you prefer, whether bright red or pale pinkies! I did read a while ago, one member used a bright red shade and felt it made her diamond pop, but I guess it depends.

I''m wearing a dark blue shade today on my nails - and my diamond does not stand out....although it looks SUPER white....But I guess it''s supposed to?? (It''s a D!)
I find my diamond stands out more with a lighter shade of pink as Maisie stated earlier. I ALWAYS have my nails painted and a few of my favorite shades (for making my bling brighter) are pale pinks, light golds, ivories and mauves, even a a pale bubblegum pink looks good. Darker colors bring more attention to the nails instead of the ring. |

I agree one hundred percent. My nails are either french manicured (thank god I got good at doing it myself!), or painted a light brown or pink color. I''m bored at work so I''ll attach pics of dark nails and light nails. (Please excuse the short pinkie nail in the dark nails color.) ![]() Picture 1:

Sure! Honestly, practice practice practice. I got sick of paying $20 for a mani that lasted freaking one week! Now my friends ask me to paint their nails for weddings! Anyway. I use a thinker white polish (now I have Sally Hansen ''white on'' from I think, Walmart. It is in a thinner bottle). The trick is to do it in one thick swipe. Two thin swipes always seem to mess me up! I don''t use those stick on nail guide thingies either, they seem to peel up the polish on me. I''m right handed so when I do my left hand I keep it still and curve around the nail with the brush in my right hand. When I do my right hand I keep the brush still in my left hand and turn my right. If that makes sense. I just have more control and less wobblieness when my right hand is in control. ![]() Then I have a pale pale pink from OPI that I lightly swipe on (more so on the natural color of the nail then the white painted part. Then a top coat (which I reapply every 2 days!) It''s easy once you get the hang of it! Good luck! ![]() And thanks for the ring compliment, that was very sweet of you! The darker nails are from a pic when we were sampling Wbands. That one is pretty thin. The french mani pic is my Wband that we ended up getting which is thicker to match the width of my Ering.

Since the topic is nails, I thought I''d share my new find! I bought Sally Hansen "Hard as Wraps" last night, applied two coats, and now I''m ADDICTED. It''s a clear (or tinted) polish that has the acrylic gel/nylon stuff in it. My nails are uber glossy now, super hard, and it doesn''t start peeling off/chipping at my cuticle like my other clear coats do. Apparently, it will come off easily with nail polish remover and it dried really quickly.
I second the vote for light pink- I always wear a pale pink or nude color when I want my ring to pop :) |
