Is anyone else watching The Leftovers on HBO?

I'm slowly becoming obsessed with this show and theories about the "sudden departures."

I have the book sitting in my Kindle but I want to watch the show first. Is anyone else watching?

I think if any of our regular shows were on we wouldn't be ... The constant smoking and not knowing why they don't talk is really getting on my nerves.

My theory is that the Guilty Remnant believe that October 14th was the Rapture, so anyone left on earth is living a pointless existance. Why try to find happiness or feel anything, or be a good person, try, or care anymore? Which is why I can't figure out why Garvey's wife is staying with them since she clearly still cares about her family. That is also why Matt is so hellbent on proving that October 14th was NOT the Rapture, because it would go against the Guilty Remnant and give people faith again.

The premise is fascinating.
