My husband who is a fair bit older than me has a number a fair bit lower than mine. I know his number, he does not know mine. I dont hide it from him, he just doesnt care and I see no reason in telling him if he doesnt care.

I have never wished he was the "only one" as some say. There were some men i was truly in love with and would not take that back, regardless of how it turned out. There were some with less emotional attachment involved yet i do not regret it. I dont love my DH and what we "do" any less because Ive done it before. Plus first times are terrible... so good thing we never had to go through that together

I agree. I read that statement that way, but I do not agree with it. I wasn't going to go into why I didn't agree with it though, as I wanted to see if that's really what was what the poster was going for. I didn't want to necessarily put words I his/her mouth.

I think the assumptions, slippery slope are why some thought it might be a topic to be avoided. All have a right to their own opinion whether they are feeling none, one or many are the best for them. When you open it up for discussion people will state their preferences and you know "people vary".


eta: The thought has just come to me, to wonder why if the number of sexual partners is what ever one prefers, then why can that not be applied to the cut or color of a gem stone. It is a matter of personal choice which we should all respect of each other. Just because it is not my "perfect" does not mean it is not perfectly perfect to another. I agree, kenny - it's not okay to assume that those of us who don't care to respond, are somehow embarrassed by our sexual history. I'm not embarrassed by my sexual history, but it's my sexual history, which is something that I feel is private. Just because this forum is fairly anonymous, doesn't mean that everyone is comfortable sharing certain personal information.
