I love reading about the pinnacle of craftsmanship of anything, but especially musical instruments.
I really enjoyed this 35-page article.
In it Orfeo, the classical guitar magazine, interviews three of the world's top guitar makers, aka luthiers.

One is Katherin Hauser.
She is the fifth generation to carry on an impressive luthier legacy in Bavaria, Germany.

In 1925 the legendary classical guitarist Andres Segovia convinced her great grandfather to begin making guitars in the classical style.
Segovia preformed and recorded on a Hauser for 33 years, putting the Hauser name on the map.

Check it out ... if only for the sumptuous pictures:

There's a real art to luthier work, I've done some mods on my basses and done a couple of fretless works; one of them just a defret and the other a complete bass rebuild. But it's nothing compared to some of the work that I see Luthiers putting into an instrument. I liken it to some of the greatest supercar and hypercar brands like Bugatti, Pagani and Lamborghini. There isn't a single flat spot, area that is questionable or doesn't look good. The attention to detail is astonishing.
