i think that alot of verra old topics were closed, maybe for spam purposes?

but if you want something reopened, email the moderators and ask if they will do it... i have had luck with some older SMTR topics.

threads over a certain age are archived to free up the database resources on the server otherwise the board would run very slow.
Thats why search takes a long time because its accross multiple databases.

If you want the techie talk about indexes and sorts I can do so but maybe a dozen people here would understand it so I wont go into it :}

When I do a search, I don''t understand the order of the posts that come up..does anyone?

I wish they were arranged in order of dates posted, the most recent first....

i always thought it was in order of % of relevance to your search terms...

aka when i type in a phrase i know is in the subject, typically that thread is first or second to pop up.

if it was date then if your 'most relevant' post was a year old you'd be scrolling through pages and pages trying to find it.

I just use google to do the search its faster.

go to www.google.com

and search for: strmrdr site:pricescope.com

That will bring up all pages with my name in them.
replace "strmrdr" with what you are searching for and your set.
Id if the thread is less than a day old it might not be there but for the older stuff it works great.

well....i was looking at some of my old topics that i started and notice many of them are closed.
