Madam B, I love the zoo! Thank you so much for posting these! The Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago is free and because of that I think people go a lot more than they would if it was a pay event. I know several families who live around there who just "cut through" all the time with their kids, and I do it as often as I can, especially the penguin house! In the winter they do the Carnival of Lights and the zoo is open late. Such a magical place!
It looks like you had a lovely afternoon, Madam B! I like zoos too, though I have to admit it's been awhile since I've been to my local zoo (which is like 2 miles at most from my house). I'll have to go one of these days!
Thank you for posting the pics Madame Bijoux. Beautiful and magnificent animals!
I miss going to the Bronx Zoo. My dh finds zoos sad because the animals are locked up but I think it serves a good purpose for a few different reasons. Anyway this is the closest to seeing zoo animals I have been for over 15 years so thank you for sharing your wonderful day at the zoo with us.
What great photos!! I've never seen baby peacocks before, cute little pudgies. Want to pick up the little lions & hug 'em till they squawk!
At the Lincoln Park zoo when we were kids, my sister was about 3. She stood, looking around; behind her was a billy goat. He got a sudden inspiration -- ran toward her & butted her right in the fanny -- she flew! Landed upside down in a trash can, feet waving in the air. It was SUCH a funny sight!
