I''m a plain band lover and when I had my solitare turned into a three stone and in 18K instead of plat, I knew I would want a new plain wedding band (which I prefer with my three stone anyway). I ordered from Blue Nile a 3mm and 4mm plain wedding bands. I knew I''d love the 3mm and bought the 4mm just to compare. Turns out, I really like the 4mm! So I need PS to be the deciding vote

I like both sizes equally and DH does not care. I HAVE to send one back tomorrow. Both are comfy and looks substantial without the e-ring.

FWIW, this is my LAST jewelry purchase for a while. it''s only June and I''ve really splurge and DH has spoiled me, but this was important to me to have.

I like the 3mm one better than the 4mm one with your ring. I have a plain band that I can wear with my ering and it is 4mm, but my ering is a bit....thicker(?).....than yours. Nice pics!

Both bands look really nice with your ering. I like the 3mm band better though.

I vote for the 3 mm.

To me the 4 mm almost competes with your beautiful ring, and the 3 mm seems to be just the right balance.

In my opinion, the 3mm is better. The 4mm looks a little thick and the 3mm also matches the band part of your e-ring.

My vote goes to the 3mm band, it looks perfect with your gorgeous ering.

me=weirdo too, I''d vote for a 2.5. Since it''s not in the running, i vote for the 3mm band.

LOL! Neither of your are weirdos

I was thisclose to getting the 2.5mm (which would be the "perfect match" I guess for my 3 stone) but my original wedding band was a 3mm plain platinum. DS#1 lost my wedding band (it was in the ring box on my desk for DH to take to get polished. DS took it to "try it on" and it''s disappeared into thin air!) and I saw the 3mm on BN and that sentimental tug got to me (granted, in 18K white gold instead of plat).

Stupid, I know.

I''d pick 2.5 mm too if I could. Since I can''t, I prefer the 3 mm!

I just did the same thing...I have a 3 stone ring in white gold that I wore with a 2mm band. I had it reset in platinum (tired of replating it!) trellis setting and the band on the 3 stone is about 2.5-3mm wide. I ordered a 3mm and a 4mm plain comfort fit band from eweddingbands.com to see which I liked best. I went with the 3mm again, because I thought it was a better "match" to my 3 stone ring, and I felt that the 4mm overpowered the 3 stone ring. My vote then is for the 3mm.

Um, I think so. I''m definitely sending the 4mm back to BN. I may order the 2.5mm but honestly, I''ve spent so much time on my rings as it is, and I love how the 3mm looks alone that I''ll probably just keep it
1.gif
It is a smidge too big for my three stone but I''m not sure the 2.5mm would visually be that huge of a difference from the 3mm.

thanks everyone for your opinion! I''ll let you know if I order the 2.5mm band
9.gif
I''ll wear the 3mm over the weekend and see if it''s a good match (alone, with my e-ring, and stacked with my other rings) but I think the insanity of my rings needs to end

I''m with you - the 3 mm will definitely look more substantial on it''s own than a 2.5. I have a 2 mm, and wish I had gotten a thicker wedding band.

Oh well, I just add my 1 mm diamond band when I feel like I need a more substantial look, without wearing my engagement ring.

I think the 3 mm is perfect. My wedding band is 2.5 and I feel too thin to wear on its own.

Feb2003Bride, just for fun can you show a pic of the plain band that you already have? (Is it 2mm?)

Of the ones you''ve shown here I like the 3mm best! Love your new 3 stone! Do you have problems with the rings sitting flush with your trellis or the w-band rubbing the prongs, or does everyone "get along"?

I''d go with the perfect match for your engagement ring. Since that''s not an option, I''d go with the 3 mm.

Oops! Too late in my post.

You could always order a 2.5mm silver band or something to try it out ... oy, I''m a dog w/a bone. (Any way you could have both -- one to wear with the set, one to wear solo?)

I like the 3mm febbride! If wearing it alone isn''t going to happen much, I''d probably pitch a tent in the weirdo camp and vote 2.5 though!

I have a 4mm band and I love it and normally I would say go for the big band but I actually think you should go to lke 2.5mm.... whatever matches the other ring. 4mm makes an awesome stand alone ring, VERY classic. Your 3 stone could stand alone as well. But together I''d go for more matchy LOL

I''d get a 2.5 to wear with ering and the 4mm to wear alone.
