Poor little sweets. That is exactly why I have so much compassion for animals. They get sick too and cannot tell you that their ear hurts or their belly hurts. They tuff it out and never complain. They don''t cry and wimper. You are a very good kitty momma for taking care of them and trying to keep them healthy! They appreciate it.

The are tolerating them okay.
Hally's been on the antiboitics for a few days and is showing much improvement, but has decided she can't stand pill pockets anymore. Which, as she is smarter than us (combined) is making giving her pills difficult. The nose drops are a nightmare as well. I don't recommend trying to give a cat nose drops. Frodo is the dickens to catch and give ear drops to, but gobbles pill pockets with ease. Duncan won't ingest pills or liquids so we are waiting for his antiboitics to arrive from a special pharmacy where they make them into treats (can you say spoiled kitty), he's fine with the eye drops and ear drops. Not happy with nose drops though. That seems to be a conscensus. Duncan also may be having bowel issues, but we are awaiting to see if that's the case. Fun, fun, fun. I keep following him into the bathroom, watching. And he's not into that... so he just squats there and glares. TMI? ![]() Frodo just coughed a couple of minutes ago though... so if keeps it up... it might be bronchitis for him too. Fortunately we've already got him on antiboitics so we'll see. Thank you everyone for the good thoughts and healing vibes. I know they will help. ((HUGS)) and head butts from the kitties. |

Oh goodness! Gypsy good luck with all the sick kitties! It sounds like a nightmare giving them drops and pills. So far, on Day 3 of antibiotics, Kipling''s not been much trouble as far as pills go, so I''ve been relatively lucky. Sounds like you have your hands full though! |

Thank you Everyone. (Amber... we need to catch up hon, long time no talk!), they are the same today. Hopefully they will improve some more by tomorrow.
Whitby... yes, Lulu is Lucy. She''s still with us... separated as she just hates Hally. It''s been 18 month but black kitties are hard to adopt out. There might be a place that may be willing to help (completely no kill), but I''m waiting for a call from them. It would be great on the one hand, as she''d have a much better chance at a forever home. But on the other hand... we''d miss her so much. I just wish she''d integrate, but after so many months, I know she''s not going to. Thank you for remembering. Lucy is my AV btw. She''s such a beautiful girl. |

Thank you BEG... and I''m glad kipling is being good about pills. The nose drops are really the only terrible part. They think you are trying to drown them. It''s really not a good feeling when they look so betrayed and afraid of you.
Thank you AG for the healing vibes. Duncan is the one who is really scaring me. Watching him cough and wheeze and struggle for air is awful. My baby. I know that the Texas vibes will help! ou? Thank you Tacori, yes. You have no idea (other stuff is going on too, unfortunately). Thank you oddoneout. AG and Witby... we''ll see about Lucy. John had tears in his eyes at the thought of giving her up tonight and I was just like... are we keeping her? Do you want a ''spare bedroom kitty''? Cause we''ll keep her. But I think there are better options for her. But it is still really hard for him. For me, since she''s never integrated well, I just am not as attached. But John is her sun, moon and stars. And it''s a mutual DEEP llove. He adores her too. So we may just FINALLY get to a point where he decided she''s our kitty. I just need a decision. |

I'm so sorry your poor kitties are having such rough times of it. I do hope you both can find peace with Lucy one way or another - it's horrible not knowing, but getting more and more attached! I'm sure you've tried everything with Duncan.. are you able to get any fluids into him with a dropper? When our boy was refusing to eat and drink (liver trouble) we were able to forcefeed him gerbers baby food chicken meat in water with a syringe and he usually kept it down..![]() Dusting all of you! |

Took Duncan back to the vet. He now has a 'raging sinus infection' on top of the bronchitis and an ear infection AND a chipped tooth. They gave him subQ fluids, some new nose drops, expelled his anal glands (88 bucks for that... I could have done it at home), and gave him an appetite stimulant.
He looks a little better since the fluid absorbed. Still won't eat or drink on his own... even with the appetite stimulant. I just made a mess of my bedding playing 'smash face' with wet food and him. I'd smash it on his chin, he's lick it off, snort and glare. I got maybe a 1/4 teaspoon into him. . At least he's had water so I know that he'll be okay till morning. In the morning I have to take him to the veterinary dentist for blood tests, more subQ fluid, and another appetite stimulant. His surgery is on Wednesday. He just sounds horrendous. Horking, hacking, coughing, snorting, wheezing... Could use some PS dust to make him healthy again.
