Hi! I just purchased a dark chocolate leather sofa for my living room. Now I am on the hunt for 2 chairs to put across from the sofa. I am looking for 2 matching, smaller scale chairs either fabric or leather that recline (my husband's request) but don't look like big recliner chairs. They need to be comfy along with stylish...I've looked around a bit and it seems like I can only find one or the other...big and comfy or small and uncomfortable. My colors for the room are in the slate blue, tan, and chocolate brown colors...think coastal cottage. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We have these and always get compliments on them for comfort and style, though not sure if they're small enough for you. http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=475447&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results
The come also come in fabric http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=475495&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results

I looked for a long time and never found anything that was as comfortable without having that overstuffed recliner look ... and was extremely happy with the price as well.

Good luck!

Thanks guys! I should have mentioned that most of my decor is on the traditional side (think Pottery Barn). I really like the one you posted EB, it looks perfect. I might have to make a trip over to C&B to check it out. The price is a little bit more than I wanted to pay for a fabric chair, but if it's really comfy, it might be the way to go. Thanks so much everyone!

Steph, I'm not sure there's a Haverty's near you, but I know they have a few chairs (and maybe recliners) that are on the smaller scale. We almost bought a living room set from Haverty's last year.

Zoe, that's where we bought our sofa. I wasn't looking for a recliner at the time, so I didn't sit in any, but I will take a trip back up there. There's a Lazy Boy right beside it too, so I will go in there Hera, thanks guys!

Hi Steph,
My livingroom is set up exactly like yours- couch with 2 accent chairs, all of which we purchased at Macy's. All of the pieces have been fine so far, but my chairs do not recline. I really like the chair EB posted- I think that would be perfect!!!! :appl:

We have one of these in beige and it is SOOOO comfy! Price includes shipping:

http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11525909&whse=BC&Ne=4000000&eCat=BC|93|77207|3957&N=4042145&Mo=14&pos=5&No=10&Nr=P_CatalogName:BC&cat=3957&Ns=P_Price|1||P_SignDesc1&lang=en-US&Sp=C&ec=BC-EC21854-Cat77207&topnav=

If the link doesn't work try searching recliner on Costco.com. If you call them, they will mail you a free swatch, I think.

We have a message chair too and this is much more comfortable. We looked at recliners all over, and this was the best price at the time.

I loved the stressless, but these were really pricey in our area. These costco chairs are nice plush leather and very solid. We were going to get one from Macy's for about $300 more, but it wasn't nearly as nice and didn't recline smoothly. If you don't like them, you can return them to your local Costco anytime (a year from now if you want).

Oooh, thanks for the suggestions ladies. I'm going to Ethan Allen later today and will check out Bassett as well. I wouldn't get it from this retailer, we have one locally that sells this, but what do you guys think about this look (probably in a different fabric):http://www.carolina-discountfurniture.com/labrre.html

I like the look of this one too...I'm going to go check it out in person:http://baers.com/Item.aspx?ItemID=-2057940499&ItemNum=7050-SG

I love the first one you posted! Not a fan of the second - it looks a little dated, IMO.

We have a dark chocolate couch and have the Ansel armchair from Pier1 with ottoman and it looks and feels great! I would suggest the recliner version as it has more traditional lines but not the traditional recliner look or bulk.

Yeah, I agree now that I go back and look at it, although I would get it in a different fabric/material. But the first one looks promising if I can find it locally and see if it's comfy. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. I was just there and that chair caught my eye. It is the right proportions and is very comfy. If I decide to go with leather, it's definitely one I'll consider.

If you do, let me know, the better half works at Pier1 and can tell you if it's going on sale anytime soon ;-)

Awesome, thanks for the offer. I wonder how much they usually put it on sale for when it does go on sale? Hmmm, I might have to visit it again!

You could see somewhere between a 50-120 discount, depends on the sale. Happy shopping!

If you hear of any upcoming sales on the recliner, I would love to know! Thanks!
