Beautiful color. Yow, 32 cts. It could spare a fraction to get rid of the window, cut to preserve weight.

I totally agree! =)

I've seen greenish blue aquas in a similar color. If one likes that color, they might want to search out those stones, as they would be more affordable, and wearable (smaller). ;))

12.69 carats for a little less than $1K. Not bad.

Awesome! I like how you think!

Price: 23960.00
Origin: Mozambique
Weight: 31.95 carats!
Size: 17.5 x 17.8 x 14 mm
Clarity Slight and typical natural needle type inclusions under careful inspection. Not distracting and all but eye clean!
Cut: Portuguese flower style Cushion Nice Cut
Color: Fine slightly greenish neon pool blue!
Treatment: Traditional heat only. No other treatment of any kind
Note: The major gem laboratories have decided that any copper bearing Tourmaline can now be called Paraiba in the trade and will certify them as such.

This is a huge and beautiful Cuprian Elbaite Tourmaline from Mozambique. Well cut and extremely brilliant with beautiful neon color! Truly a special gem and we guarantee that it is copper bearing!

It was $23960 yesterday
They change it to $31950.00 today...

I think this looks nice if not a tad risky sense there's no returns.

It comes with a GIA cert untreated and already set in a halo. Lack of previous sales might keep the price down, but she has all the paperwork so I doubt its a "hot item". Anyways, maybe too dark but I think it's lovely for the size and treatment

The Mozambique Paraiba is very nice but 32K???

You get a lot of others gems for that money. A smaller but. better colored moz. Paraiba, Sapphire and Ruby and others.

I think that Mozambique Paraiba or better copper bearing elbaite is overpriced like tansanite compared to other gems.

There is enough on the market. But only my opinion.

If you think that's overpriced, there's this less than stellar "paraiba," 2.33 carats for a whopping $14K. It's just ridiculous how the prices are on non-neon paraibas these days, only because they contain copper. It's a pretty stone, but $14K??? The funny thing is that the listing denotes it as "well priced." :???:

I don't think it's any less pretty than the crazy-priced Africa Gems one, either.

Thanks for putting that one up, Chrono, you saved me the trouble! I honestly do not understand why that one is still around. Almost 2 carat well cut very pretty Afghan tourmaline for under $300 is a great price. Wake up, buyers!

First - the price for the cute afghan tourmaline is ridicolous!!!! Ridicolous LOW!!! And still not sold???? :wall: :wall:

But there are many gems on LT which I don't understand why they are still availiable!

Afghan and Namibian tourmaline has fantastic colors!!

Compared with the "Paraiba" - no - you know my opinion on overprized vendor - maybe it is legal but ethical.

And this stone neither "neon" nor rare - in Munichshow I see dozend of them as well as 3-5 ct tanzanite.

Paraiba hype!!! Compared with the amount of Moz Paraiba Mahenge spinel is still cheap!!

Love it but this section is to highlight stones that we would buy if we had the money, so stones posted here should be for sale (except that vendors cannot post their stuff here, just regular consumer folks).

Remember that blue spinel from Jeff Davies? I was going to wait until conditions were ideal -- right chain, right light-- but surprise! It likes fairly dim incandescent light. (And clutter, too, apparently.) I just picked it up in its setting yesterday; it needed all-new prongs. I am very happy with it, even if it is darker than the dealer's photo.

Jeff Davies just posted a pretty red/hot pink spinel - sorry but I have no idea how to get his photo here and I don't think I am supposed to provide a link to his Facebook posting

1.02ct red/pink Spinel - Burma
7.01 x 4.80 x 3.35 mm
clean, nice cut,
$485 shipped

Maybe someone else knows how to post the photo for me? Please.

It's already sold, Chrono. Wonder if a PSer snagged it. ;-)

That was quick! I hope to see more pictures of it here in CS.

He said it sold a couple days ago, so maybe it wasn't a PSer. Not sure. His inventory is very outdated and he apologized. He said he'd update it soon.

Would say yes - it is not the desirable neon greenish yellow color ( then I would not not post the stone...).

But the size and shape combined with the cut is rare. I lke it.

I wish I had some spare change... Dana's selling some stuff for a friend (under the Guest Cutters tab) and I would love the Neon Spess, the 2.66ct saturated Spinel, or the super Neon Chryso... sigh

Sorry not sure how to post pics but they're all here: http://mastercutgems.com/index.php?page=view&cat=294
