I got a chance to play with my stones in late afternoon light today. So here are pictures. Sorry they appear to be all from the same setting - didn''t get much time.
First one up is a hot pink tourmaline cut by John from R&J. Vendor picture - didn''t do justice. 3ct, 8.8x7.5mm
Next is a green tourmaline cut by Gary at finewatergems. 4.39ct, 10.6 x 8.6mm
I''ve had this one for a while, but never had a picture that will do the stone justice. Today I got some good ones. It is blueish green on one axis, apple green on the other. quite interesting.
It’s neat to see a rectangular stone have an oval table (the tourmaline from John). The Finewater tourmaline, Malaya garnet and golden tourmaline all show excellent flash too. Rose quartz in general have this slightly sleepy silky look so that’s to be expected.
