I like this thread. What's that furry thing? Those little spinels would make a cool halo for a ruby or something! I have a few tiny stones to add.
ETA: Oh I see it's your kitty! You must post another pic of her/him sometime. |

Yes good idea for a multi gem project. I love purples with pinks and blues. |

This trillion sapphire I'm actually very proud of. I think the color is electric. I got it off ebay for a steal, from an unknown shop that has very few bidders (phat_clark). This guy's stuff is pretty mixed -- some real finds, and a bunch of mediocre stuff I think. Anyway, it's .96ct, 6mm sides. I believe it's been heated, but low heat only. I think it'll go into a pendant. Hopefully soon
P.S. That's a very flattering photo of my bigger sapphire ring, it's usually way more extinct. But sometimes it preforms for the camera ![]() P.P.S. And here's a better pic of my cat. Her name's Misha, she's 13.

What a beauty! My daughter would go nuts for your cat. We have three that she loves of course but she's crazy for siamese cats because of a TV show she watches called puppy in my pocket. Nice sapphire too

Loving Misha and loving your trilliant but you do realise by putting up the vendor's name you've also increased traffic to his store!
I have never bought melee! I don't think I have the imagination for that! I look forward to seeing how you use them. They're very pretty. |

LD: Well, I got two good stones out of him, so I figured I'd do him that favor
But actually, it is a concern... I would post other stuff I've gotten, but then I feel guilty posting and not revealing my sources, and if someone asked me directly... I would feel extra bad if I had to decline revealing the source. But how can I reveal the source if I'm still bidding on stuff Kismet... woooow! I love the montana, and the lighter demantoid, and the tourmaline! I'd love to see a close up of the bixbite! Never seen one in real life. Which reminds me, I've been meaning to visit the gems & minerals at the Smithsonian for ages now. Such a shame to live close by and not go. |

Nice collection Kismet. A bixbite, a Montana sapphire and a yellow diamond! Not to mention assortment of interesting garnets.

Tanzigrrl -- That is awesome! Beautiful!!! Would you mind sharing who created the pendant? What a great way to use all those pretty stones

Courtney P. at Aurum Studios, Athens, GA. Her filigree work is amazing - it's her specialty. I've had 95% of my custom work done by her and every piece has been wonderful!!!
I literally walked in there with a baggie of these loose gemstones and asked if she had any ideas. She made a few sketches on the spot and I selected this design and I love it. All of the stones, by the way, were from rings I wore as a teenager so it's really a special "recycling" or "upcycling" (as my friend would say) project!

![]() Lovely little pretties, and Tanzigrrl wow! This a pair of 5mm heat only Sri Lankan sapphires from Litnon. I was hoping to someday make them into earrings. They have flat tables and some color zoning, but they sparkle and were affordable. I have some itty bitty gems too, but they're very hard to photograph. I'll keep trying to photograph them. |

bluebirrrd: pretty sapphires! I think they will make a great pair of earrings.
and -- awesome photograph! Maybe you could print it and hang it on your wall and get this additional enjoyment out of your stones Lols aside, I *am* actually considering doing that for some of my stones...I'll call it "stone art photography"... um... maybe I'm weird Tanzigrrl: My parents live in Atlanta. I think I may just have to take a detour to Athens one day Thanks for the info!

![]() Rainbow flashes on the demantoid? No, not noticeable to my eye anyway. 3.4mm is incredibly small! This is my last one, an ebay stone. Listed as a Columbian emerald and weighing .26 ct. I seem to have lost the measurements, but you can see the scale. Do they bother with fracture filling and such with such itty bitties? I sometimes figure that if I can't afford the big ones, may as well pick up some bright small stones that can be candidates for stackers or multi-stone projects down the road. |

Thanks.
When I walk the dogs I'm always looking for a little plants and flowers to steal from my neighbors' yards. Certain shapes, patterns, colors, textures, and sizes of plant life feel right with certain FCDs. The plant hunt is not easy since the FCDs are so tiny. I often spot flowers that would be perfect for a 20 ct FCD. The hardest FCD to fit into a composition is that little Red. Besides being only 10 points it doesn't like letting a lot of reflective light out; it's not included but the color's just so rich. I have a neighbor with lots of white rose blooms; maybe a little white rose bud would work. She's really proud of her garden so I'll have to steal them late at night.

I have too many little stones to post. I just took some pics of a few. First up is a .51 ct copper bearing tourmaline from mozambique
next a .91 ct mali garnet, seen here sitting on a slab of lapis. next up is a mint tourmaline that is much cleaner than it looks in this photo |
