Beautiful stone. I would halo it to emphasize the color and the facet work, but I'm predictable that way! I just had a periwinkle sapphire set in a three stone ring, and I love it, but I would have haloed it (if the halo I already had would have fit the stone!). Enjoy,it's gorgeous. Is it African? Ceylon?

looks lovely. Can't wait to see it set.
Do you like vintage? I think it would look great in a vintage art deco taped bezel type setting. love the hexagonal bezel idea too. |

If you want it to stand out more, go for a halo.
If you want it understated, then a plain bezel or half bezel. If you want something perhaps in-between, some fancy work like a non round bezel (hex, as suggested) will be great. |

Thanks everyone for your help!
TL, it is a Tanzania Umba sapphire!I love everyone's ideas and have looked at so many pictures trying to decide what I love most but it is hard to choose. But I think I have decided I'd like to put a halo around it as many of you have suggested. I am also a fan of bezels but a bezel alone just wouldn't stand out as much. I think I may have decided to go with a design from Adzia on Etsy. She has a ring, the "Square Cushion Cut sapphire Diamond Leaf Engagement Ring" that I have fallen in love with. It has a small bezel as well as the halo! I'll post pics. Does anyone have any experience with them? Do they do custom work? The ring looks beautiful in white gold but I am a sucker for rose and yellow gold.

Thanks everyone for your compliments and ideas! I am talking to Michael E about designing the pendant but I have a question for you all. I have a 1000$ setting budget and need to decide between 15 1-point diamonds and 18kt gold , or 14 3-point diamonds and 14kt. I think 18kt and 14 kt gold look the same but there is an obvious difference between 1 point and 3 point diamonds! Which would you ladies pick?
