I like the first setting best; I think a scalloped halo shaped for an oval will look fabulous.
What color metal Chrono?

Yellow without a doubt.

Ditto, I love the latter settings you posted, but your stone gets more justice done by the scalloped halo!
Guess I need to find one, eh?

I'll help! What are the dimensions? I can message them to you later and see if I'm on the right track ;-)

Yellow allows the pink and orange to shine through equally. By going with rose, you are favouring or amping up one hue over the other.

I'm glad you like it. I'm going to be watching to see what direction this heads. If you can get that window closed up, it's going to be sublime!

I took more pics, Chrono. I'd be interested in your thoughts on them!

I'm not too worried about it, but if I could make it less obvious, that'd be great!

Ok. Pics. In my bathroom diffused natural lighting. All pics were taken in a span of about ten minutes, so not much of a change in lighting.

I think I'm shocked to say that white is out! Don't get me wrong, they're all pretty, its just that white is a bit too well, cold. I thought it would be the other way around, but it seems to me that the rose gold makes it look more pink, and the yellow gold makes it look slightly more orange.

Most importantly, thank you so much for doing and posting that exercise. Live and learn. :))

It's interesting to see the pictures with the different kinds of metals in the same lighting grouped together. There was a bigger difference than I thought there would be, for just different colors of metals.

Right now I think I prefer rose too! I might look at them tomorrow and change my mind though!

Macro lens adds 10 pounds...or several degrees of saturation. It's not this dark in real life.
ill
According from a gemologist relative of mine, if it has a veil-like inclusion as shown in your picture (your camera's amazing at capturing details btw) it's probably a synthetic/lab-grown. But who careeessss!!!!!!! I LOVEEEE YOUR STONE *covetous tone*

People over the industry are still debating what color a corundum should be for it to qualify as a padparadscha. For me, your stone is exactly what a padparadscha should be. Vivid sashimi salmon pink!

Your comment is a broad statement and frankly, its the first time I've heard it. Veils are pretty common in stones and are not necessarily an indication of synthetic.

And yes, there has been much written on the ongoing debate about what constitutes a padparadscha, including many discussions here on PS. To wit: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/excellent-article-on-padparadscha.186029/

I love the halo.

I like the MC2 inspired setting also, but I think the halo puts the emphasis on the stone.

I must be the only one who likes the yellow gold look. The stone has a softer, dreamier colouring in yellow gold, sort of like the delicate lotus.

Not true! I think rose gold is really pretty, but yellow gold isn't far behind. I'll probably end up waiting to see if anything comes up PreLoved before jumping into expensive custom, and yellow gold is far more likely to pop up than rose gold!

I have a YG setting, but it's getting a spess. Yes, Freke bought orange, her most hated color. :Up_to_something:
