Thanks Chrono! That must explain why I love your collection so much Man I wish I had known about PS back then, we would have done something much different But in the end this ring is lovely and makes a much better RHR than e-ring for me. It was a pain to find a wedding band that looked good with it, because it is so thick. I still find the setting a little to *substantial* for my taste, but there it is!

Thanks everyone! It is funny to hear the setting called sleek and modern. In my pre-PS days, way back in 2005 when I gave my DH pictures of rings I liked, one I have him was a very antique looking split shank pave solitaire with a HUGE diamond EC in it. That setting looked very classical and old world. Fast forward to the ring he presented to me and those classic elements became ultra modern when you removed the pave and scaled down the center stone. The jeweler made the bands of the shank thick enough to add pave at a later date, but in the end because we changed the ring we ended up leaving it as it. Some day I may have WF or BGD re-furbish the ring by thinning the shanks, adding pave and all-around making it a more delicate piece. While I love how sleek it looks, it is a little large on my hand in compared to my other rings which are very delicate.
