I tend to buy stones that have the exact same color characteristic in each and every one of them. It's actually quite a curious phenomenon, as it leads to an absence of color. Strange as it seems, but all the stones I collect all seem to sap the color green right out of my wallet! Every one of 'em!

I hear that!!! ;(

Yes, it is likely in the conditions in which you are purchasing them! Try this: take your phone and wallet and go to a clean well lit place outside (indirect sun only, please). Open your wallet carefully and extract one and only one credit card. Use it to pay for online purchases. Then close wallet. If you have done it correctly, there should not be a total absence of green - at least for a while.

I certainly have color preferences, as evidenced by the fact neon pinkish-red Spinels are the most numerous type of stone in my collection. However, like NKOTB, I find that I am drawn to specific colors in almost every color family. That being said, I am still searching for a green to add to my collection.

I enjoy all of the colors in the rainbow, though I have a preference for blue/violet.

Minousbijoux: Pregcurious is referring to the poll results and specifically the third poll option...

Will post comparison pics when I have the Aqua and Topaz in my hands

Everyone has such beautiful pieces! And what an interesting poll question, too!

I don't know why, but I'm a matchy-matchy kind of person. And while I don't often buy stones individually, I do buy pieces (lately mostly vintage) in same colors/stones to wear as sets - sapphires with sapphires, rubies with rubies, etc. I also wear them to match my outfits....is that just totally whack?

I got my first emerald-cut Aqua recently, and loved it for its icy blue colour and big light flashes, and am keen to get a bigger one in the future.

I do not believe I would ever be tired of deep pink/raspberry red CSs.

Amethyst is my birthstone, and I am about to receive my first precision cut Amethyst from Richard Homer, and it is unlikely to be the last of my amethyst.

Quite like to add a bit of vivid green, turquoise and yellow to my CS collection, and I have plans in place how to do it, just need to find the spare pennies for them.

DK :))

You have an amazing collection BaileyC!! I love your ruby set, your moonstone and sapphire ring etc. I love how you rock it and give it such a contemporary and unique look. So, not whack at all!!

Ha! Bigger and the same colour and cut would fall into 'the category' . Especially if you would set it in a similar setting
I love the Amethyst you have coming up. And I am looking forward to see the green in your future.
And you will also add yellow to your collection just like me! What stone will you choose?

Bigger, yes; however, it will be different to the existing Aqua!

As for the yellow stone, I would like a vivid neon yellow, don't mind what type of CS, as it will not be an everyday ring.

I'd like it to be a round cut, so that I can surround it with a green or pink halo of some sort.

For awhile I got into the red/pink phase..I have two Ruby rings, I also have a rhodilite garnet and a pink sapphire ring. Honestly I never wear any of them any more even though they are all beautiful. It's quite sad really.

Conclusion: the zircon with its teal color is most different from the other stones. The Topaz and Aqua have some similarities, but because of the cut they have a totally different look.
