Lavender spinel from The Gem Trader (lots of pictures)

First of all, this is my first purchase from The Gem Trader and let me just say, Brad is just such a nice person, a GEM (hehe) of a guy! He answered my emails fast and just a joy to do business with!

This is from the last drop of gems: Lavender spinel 2.28ct, 9x7.4ct. Diffinitely a color shifter, from blue to purple.

It''s very sparkly. Although on the pictures it may show some windowing, IRL, it''s cut very well.

Next to my platinum metal...I think this gem will look the best in white gold. What do you all think??

I dig e/w settings a lot-and love a nice bezel/semi bezel so heck yeah I think it would look great! Mariedtiger has her lavender spinel set that way and it looks fabulous!

That''s a very interesting stone with a really nice shift. I''d certainly go for white gold, but even two-tone wouldn''t be a bad idea because of the shift (yellow could nicely accentuate violet).
