This is not a great picture- just trying to get me a shot in candle lighting to see if stone goes dark.. but noticed with the angle that can see through stone to finger at the top. is this normal since stone is at tilt angle- or a window? i am talking about the V that is sort of between 11 and 1 o'clock.

I'd consider that a tilt window, but with the quality of the picture, it's really quite hard to discern and say.

Very sure that what you are seeing is a tilt window due to the location of the see-through portion and angle of the ring and hand. A true window will always have the culet as the centrepoint of the window, not be at the edge of the window.

You cannot determine a true window unless the table of the stone is perpendicular to your line of sight. In that photo, it's impossible to determine, so what you have there is a tilt window, which is a characteristic of 99% of all faceted gems, especially low RI ones like amethyst.
