Yes and no. Citrine falls into the family of lemon quartz but not all lemon quartz are citrines. I have read that the term lemon quartz is applied to some types of quartz that have been irradiated, or also known as Oro Verde. There is a company by the name of Empresa Brasileira de Radiacoes Ltda. of Brazil that does this and they also "make" green prasiolite and improve the colors of a number of other gems.
Oh that's interesting. I saw a lovely "lemon quartz" ring at a local jewelry store. I haven't seen any loose stones quite like it, I bet it was irradiated!! TFS!
