Hello everyone,
I am new to the website and thrilled to find it because i have learned so much in the past few days. My request is a popular one, i am looking for a blue sapphire cushion cut natural (unheated) gemstone over 1 carat. I first started my search at NSC but after reading a lot of posts i discovered that they were overpriced and i did not like how they were cut. So i have been emailing/searching some of the people recommended thru there. Unfortunately Gary from finewater emailed me back and didn''t have anything i was looking for. I haven''t heard anything back from J.L white or Dan. The guy that does alot of concave cuts seems to only have heated stones which are beautiful but im hoping to find an unheated stone.

I came across this stone from simplysapphire:

it seems too big? also not sure if it will go with the setting that i want

here are the settings from NSC that im thinking about

what are your thoughts, inputs or opinions? Sorry about the links in advance i though i knew how to do it but didn''t want to go back have my post erased and have to rewrite it!
Again thanks to everyone on this site it has been so helpful!!

Hi BlueGem - welcome to the site!

It is great that you have learned so much already - but be prepared to learn even more! I went through the same thing and spent weeks researching/reading.

As it seems that you have already identified you are looking for something more "precision cut", I would wait to see what you hear back from Jeff White and Dan. Just know that finding the right sapphire for you can be a process that may take weeks up to months! I would also suggest looking through their past cut stones to identify any specific ones that you really like - including both shape and color. This can help give them a more specific idea of what you are looking for.
