Will lemon juice and vinegar always damage a glass filled ruby?

A couple of weeks ago I bought a beautiful red stone that I hope is a ruby. It was such a good deal that I'm worried it might be glass filled. I applied lemon juice to it for five days and then gently heated it. It's still beautiful. I then submerged it in white vinegar for three days. It's still untouched. Does this mean that it's not glass filled?

Maybe it's not a ruby?

I'm totally open to the idea that it might not be a ruby. And I don't really care if it isn't, because it makes my heart sing no matter what it is. Except glass filled ruby - if it is, it's going in the fish tank. I just wish someone could tell me if vinegar always damages glass filled rubies.

It depends on the strength of the acid used. The reason a lead glass ruby is "discovered" by the bench is because the torch used is hotter than anything a consumer would use normally at home. The acid bath jewellers use is also much stronger since its purpose is to remove solder flux and other coating added before repair work.

Thanks. I suppose I'll have to send it off to be sure then.
